In April 2015 I started at Barre3 about 5 weeks before my wedding. Disclaimer, I HATE working out. I'm jealous of the girls who love it. BUT, Barre3 caught my attention because of the use of the ballet barre. I have always loved to dance and even though I knew this was nothing like dance, it lured me in to try it out. I knew for my wedding I wanted to be toned. After just 4 weeks of Barre3 I felt better than I had in years!
After the wedding, I'm reluctant to admit that I stopped going to Barre3. It wasn't until January of this year (2017) I made the time to incorporate Barre3 into my schedule again because my health became even more important to me. Let me tell you, the women at Barre3 South Buckhead are rockstars! Not only are the coaches top notch and super motivating but the women who come to the classes (I've see a few men, too!) are a delight! Starting out the New Year with the B3 All In program was really great accountability for me. Jessica quickly became my favorite in-class instructor as she does a great job of keeping everyone smiling (YES, smiling) while participating AND she really made me feel comfortable as she helped coach us through adjustments to make to get the most out of our time in the class. But, my favorite thing about Jessica is the way she says, "Good morning, Lindsay," EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I come in! Hillary is another one of my favorites as her energy and smile make me WANT to get out of bed at 5:30am to get to class because I know she'll call me by name during class and greet me with joy. And finally, today something happened that made me want to leave this review. Lindsay is an instructor (who I later came to realize lives across the condo community from me). I had seen her about 2 weeks ago in our neighborhood and told her I had had some medical issues this month and a major project at work that had stopped me from making time for Barre3. BUT... y'all... when I walked into Barre3 this morning for the first time in 4 weeks, this is what I heard from Lindsay, "Good morning! It's so good to see you back. How are you feeling? How was your presentation last week?" THIS made all the difference. This isn't a gym, people. This is a community of people who want to be the best versions of themselves possible, and a community of people who encourage others to do the same.
Thanks, Barre3 for making a girl who hates working out, want to wake up (way too early) before work to come take care of...
Read more2022 Update: Barre3 Buckhead is still the most amazing place to work out, and has the most supportive, loving, positive community. The studio is celebrating 8 years this month, and has lots of fun activities going on. Class sizes have returned to 19, and they have a waitlist for classes that are already full. The waitlizt usually moves fast so I don't ever worry about not getting into a class I want. Their schedule is also really flexible, with morning, midday, and evening classes. Livestream is still an option for all classes, with a small change to them only being live. This is a great way to get a work out in when I have a busy day and can't drive to the studio, but still want to move with the community. They offer great packages for classes and are always so welcoming to new people; I definitely recommend checking them out!
I cannot say enough great things about Barre3 Buckhead. I have been going to this studio since 2017, and finally became a member in 2020. The studio changed owners a few years ago, and Landis, the current owner, has done a great job of making this studio more than just a place to workout, but a community. There are fun events, challenges, and a great group of people who frequent the studio! All the instructors are very knowledgeable, encouraging, and challenging. Each workout is a little different, which makes every class unique. Since covid, Barre3 started to offer Livestream classes which are done via a zoom link. You also get the recording after the class to use up to 3 days later. Outdoor classes are also offered, which is a cool option! In studio, there are limited spots to help with spacing people out, and everything is cleaned before and after class. Instructors wear masks the whole class, and all clients must wear masks before and after class, but not required to during the class. Because we are spaced out I have felt comfortable without a mask during class over the past year. Barre3 Buckhead has helped me so much during the covid pandemic by being a place that I feel comfortable coming to move, sweat, and breathe! Thank you Landis and team for continuing to be such a supportive and...
Read morebarre3 in Buckhead is a really great barre studio. The studio itself is beautiful and decorated nicely. The classes are calming yet very challenging. I've been to barre classes before, and didn't love it. However, barre3 has changed that and I'm a huge fan. My only issue with barre3 Atlanta is an instructor issue. Katie is without a doubt the best instructor there. Her classes are truly worth the money and time. She motivates yet challenges at the same time. Jessica is also fantastic. She's not as motivating as Katie, but she knows her stuff and the classes are hard. The only instructor I can't really take a class with is Laura. While I'm sure she is a great person, she just isn't the best instructor. She stumbles on her words in every class, throughout the whole class. She says the phrase 'gorgeous ladies' 20+ times in the class - I've counted. It's a lot and it's really annoying. Get to know your clients instead of using one blanket statement over and over! She also tends to take the class more than teach the class and is often huffing & puffing throughout the class. She sometimes does really complicated moves in packed classes and I, along with other women in the class, will find ourselves staring at each other thinking, "What is she doing?" This is the only instructor I feel I don't get my time or money out of it. I've tried her class multiple times, and it really just hasn't gotten better for me. I know she has people that love her, and this is always a personality thing, but I just won't take her classes anymore. I've also taken classes with Meredith and she's good also. Nothing really bad or great to say about her - she knows her stuff! Also, one tiny general complaint, the classes always go over 5 - 10 minutes! It's really fine, but sometimes can be frustrating when running on a...
