El Azteca — Restaurant in Atlanta

I have not visited this restaurant in quite some time( approximately 2 months) but this will by far be the worst experience I’ve had yet!!! I ordered the tacos de carnitas and was served plain pork tacos with no type of garnish or jalapeño coleslaw as described on the menu nor with the side of onion and cilantro as requested. I then asked my server to return to the table who noticed the mistake before I even mentioned it being that he put it in and wrote it down exactly as I requested. He proceeded to bring a side of each and I garnished the tacos myself. Two other orders at our table were also incorrect and he did the same for them explaining the kitchen did not follow the order requested. We proceeded to speak with a manager who was very rude and tried to blame our sever saying he was new. We expressed how we were disappointed with the food after correcting on multiple occasions he proceeded to say that there were no mistakes made. Towards the end we asked if the manager could apply a discount of some sort as we visit this restaurant regularly and he proceeded to racially profile us , yell and over talk us saying we just wanted free food. Which was not the case as 3 of the orders were not correct. As health care personnels we were expecting to be given discounts yet not only for our services but for our disappointment with the food. The discount was applied to one ticket we called the manager back again to fix it. He came back to the table and proceeded to argue, yell and over talk us yet again saying he gave us 15% discount. We explained that he did not and as regulars we will not be returning to this restaurant. He continued to yell and say not to come back. This was extremely unprofessional and embarrassing. I could not believe this type of behavior coming for a “manager “ I have not experienced such horrible service and unprofessionalism in my life. He is very racist and rude and doesn’t care about the satisfactory of his loyal customers. I do not recommend this place if you are looking for great quality food and superior customer service. At the very least don’t make complaints of your food and request the manager as he will only make racists remarks and think you want a free meal while yelling at you saying they’ve made no mistakes!!!!!! I'm new to the neighborhood and LOVE a walkable restaurant with great food and drinks where I can also socialize with friends. I prefer to sit at the bar because having worked in the industry, it's usually where you'll get the most personable service.

The first question was what was I having to drink. I asked for water. Since I was thirsty and I was at the restaurant to eat after having not eaten since yesterday morning. I did plan on having drink but that wasn't my priority and I also didn't want it to be watery.

A regular comes and sits and the bartender makes her a drink and enjoys a glass of the margarita for herself. After seeing how pretty the drink was I asked about the flavor. I requested she flavor my drink the same way when it's time since I need to eat first and I don't want my drink sitting becoming watery.

She then still proceeds to put in my drink order as my delayed chips arrive.

Halfway thru my chips, a 2 full blown fajita dishes are delivered to the two regulars at the bar who arrived 15 minutes after I did. And who ordered 10 minutes after me.

I later found out she made me a tequila drink and never put my food order.

I only drink mezcal and moonshine. Not speed rack tequila. I made it clear that I wanted chips, my food, then my guava mezcal skinny margarita. Like we talked about all of this. She even asked if I wanted my tacos hard or soft.

It's one thing to be the "it girl" bc you've put in time at an establishment and you're treat at what you do and personable to EVERYONE. it's another thing to be bossy and mean and show favoritism and act like everything you just did was okay.

I asked for a check out of respect to leave and she really tried to charge me at first. Then said it's all good and not to worry.

It's the attitude and the sassy and the strong and wrong for me. It's not cool and It didn't feel good. I was able to ignore her attidude my first visit bc she was weeded and I understand. I even tipped the same amount as my bill.

I still am hungry and my hunger headache is worse bc of the tequila i never asked for.

I'm mad ASF bc i enjoy the establishment. I could care less if you drink on the job. Just maintain your steps of service and remember that every first deserves to not feel like theyre a...

THIS REVIEW IS NOT FOR THERE FOOD AND FOOD RELATED SERVICES!

I reside in the apartment right in-front of the restaurant. And, at night, they have this heavy duty super flashy flood lights on. Now, it's all good till the restaurant is open for, but sometimes they keep it on for WAY longer then there restaurant timing (sometimes, till PAST MIDNIGHT). However, yesterday, they didn't even turn the lights OFF AT ALL. Throughout the night, there big flashy flood lights were on and we living in this apartment could not sleep due to it. I really hope they fix this issue as soon as possible.

ANOTHER NIGHT WITH FULL FLASHY LIGHTS ON. I was really happy when the management of the place responded to my review. I thought it will make a difference. I was happy and wanted to give this place a try. But just 1 day after my review was up, they still kept the light on for ENTIRE NIGHT, yet again! I suffer from claustrophobia. That is the reason why I picked this place which has big window and want to keep them open at night. But this restaurant is making my stay here a nightmare every single night!

UPDATE I must say, that the place has been somewhat consistent with the above mentioned issue. They have been keeping there lights off after that night this week (there was however this one night when it was on throughout). Now, I will go to eat the famous Mexican food at that place which I have been hearing praises for. And will change my review based on that.

UPDATE Finally after so long I was able to eat at this place. The food was amazing as been told and the people there were awesome. The light has been off most of the nights however sometimes it does stay on throughout the night. But still it has been better then...
