All the carts have been outside due to plants in the lobby for over a month now.
It’s raining so all carts are wet, and paper towels are only offered by the people scanning cards at the most narrow pass-through point getting inside the store.
I was struggling quite a bit holding a lot of clothing returns plus my purse and jacket while trying to get the cart dry enough to set the clothing down without getting the items soaked without having enough hands to do so.
I was clearly struggling going as fast as I could as I inched out of the way and was doing this all at once when the lady yelled at me I couldn’t be there.
She could she see me “in the way” but was so callous she did not care to see that I was struggling and going as fast as I could.
I said, “I’m trying, see?” As I continued to struggle and inch with my turned cart through the pass-through to returns.
She still did not offer to help while she stood there right next to me with paper towels not doing anything.
The guy on the other side who also did not help me yelled across after me, through people, “HAVE A NICE DAY!” Idk other than to be passive aggressive following my clear communication to his colleague that I was already trying with all my might to hurry and it still wasn’t fast enough for her.
Earlier when I checked out I had asked the cashier if they did price adjustments without me having the item there. Both the cashier and the person helping him said absolutely and sent me to the half-counter.
Once there, the guy said yes definitely, and after searching I found my receipt for the items I wanted price-adjusted.
I gave it to him and he took some time and had to call a manager over because he couldn’t figure out why the computer wasn’t letting it go through.
The manager said something like they don’t do price adjustments for items that are either “couponed” or “clearance.”
(In other words, marked down - because “coupons” are some term of art that means something at Costco that it does not mean elsewhere because there were no coupons used.)
(How often are their prices substantially lower enough to go through a price adjustment without them being “couponed” or “clearance” in the first place?)
This policy seems to not have been known by anyone other than the manager last night.
I asked the manager, “so do I buy them again at the discounted price and return the ones I already bought at full price?”
And then he said yes, so I did that next.
I bought two new of the items at the discounted price, then waited through the return line for the second time since I already did a return at the beginning of my visit, and returned the new ones I’d just bought with my old receipt to get the price adjustment.
Only difference in the items is that now the new clothes were soaked from the wet basket.
Strange to have so many uninformed and callous unhelpful employee run-ins on one trip. Very...
Read moreI am an avid seafood lover and have relied on Costco for my regular seafood purchases, particularly Dungeness crabs and fish. However, I have recently encountered some concerning issues with the quality of the seafood, which compelled me to share my experience.
On multiple occasions, I noticed that the Dungeness crabs I purchased from Costco didn't smell right. Unfortunately, this issue persisted, and to my dismay, I even fell ill after consuming them. It was a disheartening experience to have my trust in the quality of seafood from Costco shaken.
To add to my disappointment, I also encountered problems with the Branzino fish. Similar to the crabs, the fish didn't have the fresh aroma that is expected from high-quality seafood. This lack of freshness is a cause for concern, as fish is known to spoil quickly if not handled properly.
Frustrated with these recurring issues, I decided to reach out to the manager at my local Costco to address the matter. However, my attempt to explain the situation and offer constructive feedback was met with rudeness. Instead of listening to my concerns, the manager swiftly transferred me to the refund desk, leaving me feeling insulted and unheard.
As a loyal customer who values both the quality of the products and the customer service experience, I expected better from Costco. It is disheartening to witness such a decline in the attention given to ensuring the freshness and quality of the seafood offered. Additionally, the dismissive attitude displayed by the manager further intensified my disappointment.
I feel compelled to share this review online to raise awareness of these issues. Costco must be reminded that they cannot afford to leave fish on display for extended periods and still expect them to maintain their freshness. I sincerely hope that this review serves as a wake-up call for Costco to reevaluate their seafood handling and customer service practices.
I have always appreciated the wide variety and competitive prices offered by Costco, but the recent experiences have left me questioning whether I can continue relying on them for my seafood needs. As a seafood enthusiast, I believe it is crucial for stores like Costco to prioritize the quality and freshness of their products and ensure that customers' concerns are heard and addressed respectfully.
I hope that Costco takes this feedback seriously and takes the necessary steps to rectify these issues, thereby restoring my confidence in their...
Read moreCostco in general just sucks starting from parking and driving around, I’ve seen entitled drivers almost run over children, youth, moms with babies and elderly with no dismay whatsoever but the whole shopping experience at Costco has vastly gone down in quality in general. You are literally fighting for your life to spend $400 plus on organic and trendy food that isn’t actual meals to be berated by all employees at every level. I have been treated so poorly here with the items I do try to return it’s ridiculous. I have been an executive member for 17 plus years across multiple state moves and the whole treatment of customers here is truly heinous. What’s worse is the amount of time spent buying things and waiting in lines. Also, the self check out ladies are mean with strange power tripping issues. I was literally forced into one due to their outrageously long lines, they first needed to take my dna sample before proceeding to purchase, I was in a hurry with popsicles and kids waiting in the car with husband after I long hot day, I also had my membership check and was planning on using it with towards the purchase. I get harassed by the short mean woman before proceeding to do COSTCO’s job, not my job or ringing up my items in a hurry and go to pay with the membership renewal check and the little mean woman looks at me and says self check out can’t take those, with a glimmer of snarky attitude. I just straight up left. This place is the worse on all accounts.
Do yourself a favor, get a Sams club membership. I’m in and out in 20 minutes or less, people are pleasant and even better is Sams club curbside pickup and scan and go. I’ve gained so much of life back and grocery bills are down by half. Costco can’t even tell you which stores have inventory, you have to send smoke signals to store 47 to see if they have poorly made bulky furniture that will look like you bought it at Salvation Army after spending over $1000 on it. How can this company exist and not use technology like everyone else? But not use technology, waste your time by hiding items throughout the store and make you feel like a common criminal for spending an average of $500 everytime you go? Just go to Sam’s Club and Whole Foods. You’ll be...
