ALDI — Local services in Orion Charter Township

I stopped to pick up my order today at 3:50 within my 3:00-4:00 pickup window time. A man came out at 4:01 and told me since they close at 4:00 today (July 4th) they canceled my order and had just finished putting it all back. My order was full of party food for an event the next day. He also told me it was fine because I wouldn’t be charged. It’s not ok. I spent over an hour going through recipes to make sure I had everything all set. He did say he tried to call me but he didn’t leave a message and the number he called from did not come from Aldi so I was not about to call it back assuming it was a telemarketer. I've only been here a couple times, but they have what I needed. No brands I know, however, everything I've bought has been good. Love their package cooked rice and cheese selection. Good fresh vegetables, haven't tried the bread, but it's very cheap. You "rent" a cart so have a quarter with you. Bring bags, buy plastic or paper, or do without. Edit 8/8/23: I usually stop in about every week or two now. Egg rolls and pizzas in the produce coolers are both great. Wish they had a sweet & sour sauce for egg rolls. Used to be my favorite place to shop, today an older woman with black hair and glasses hollered at me across the store at check out, accusing me of trying to steal in front of the entire store because i didn’t realize my payment didn’t go through. I went back to try again and she said “still didn’t go through. you owe $55, if you don’t have the money you can’t get it” before calling the manager up and my having to leave. it was such a great experience to be publicly humiliated in the store after trying multiple times both cash and card to pay :) especially at a store who boasts for being...
