What a circus... I drove 30 minutes just to pay a ticket and they tell me I can't because I have to go before a judge and, of course, it's too late in the day to see a judge. It wasn't even 3pm yet... So I come back the next day, stand before the judge and she tells me to just pay the ticket and take a driving class. Seriously?? I just tried to do that. Couldn't your clerk have said that the day before? Fine.
I pay my fee and they tell me to book the class quickly or I could miss my opportunity. Sweet. I just dropped a few hundred bucks and now you expect me to be able to immediately cough up another $150 for a driving class that I will likely sleep through. "Sorry but I can't afford it until the end of the week" to which they reply "Well hurry, classes fill fast"
Just over a week later I call to schedule the class and am told that unless I want to drive an hour away I will need an extension to make any of the local classes. How is that possible? I have 3 months to complete this and there are none available a week later? Fine.
I call the court to request a 3 DAY extension only to be told I will need to come back to the court and speak to a judge yet again. Why?! I'm not asking for a month or something.
Why are you people wasting our time and tax dollars with this redundant dog and pony show? Maybe if you took a look at your policies and actually gave your clerks the power to do anything but collect $ and say "No" things could run a little more efficiently for everyone. You might even help to improve your blighted reputation a little bit in...
Read moreI have to appear in court due to me trying to protect my fourth amendment rights and a cop police officer maliciously prosecuting me with 2 counts of assault and battery even though I was the one that called 911 for being brutally physically assaulted. It’s sad to see that law enforcement does not protect taxpaying women here. Yesterday when I was at court there was a male that was spitting, slapping screaming and yelling at a female right outside the court room. I’m not a coward so I gave the person a stare and then at the last minute here come the cops outside not even paying attention to the male yelling screaming spitting and hitting the female. Yet, a cop was paying more attention to me and harboring the male into the court room like he is in danger. I bet that they did not even detain the male inside yet i am in court for 2 counts assault and battery because two people were unauthorized to record film, video, and take pictures of me. Even outside of their courtrooms it is stated that is unauthorized for anybody to have cell phone use, to record, video or photo graph a court room. And that same rule need to apply to American taxpaying citizens. Yet, they take up for scum and police officers that wrongfully prosecute citizens every time. After this is all done I will be moving out of Aurora and Arapahoe County then later to another state. It is too ugly out here when our own law enforcement will mot...
Read moreShow me the money. Why do you think the most magnificent buildings in Aurora (they look like Sadaam Hussein's Palace compared to the rest of Aurora) are the City Hall, Police and Municipal Courts buildings? The only thing the City of Aurora really cares about is extracting as much money as possible from as many people as possible for traffic fines. And that is why the City hires former city prosecutors and city attorneys from inside the system to be the "fair and impartial" municipal judges. To make sure the City collects as much money as possible, the City makes it as inconvenient as possible and as costly as possible to get to trial. The City will sweat working people out by making them come multiple times for traffic court or making them wait as long as possible while someone is waiting for a jury. Forcing people to miss work and miss pay is a very effective way of silencing people and forcing them to give up their rights. The deck is stacked against you before you ever get to the Courthouse. No one went to jail for the 2008 financial crisis that almost ruined this country, but plenty of people go to jail for unpaid traffic tickets. Is...
