DO NOT PARK HERE, even if you are attending an event at the Paramount Theatre. Outrageous parking fees. You have to insert your credit card into machine just to enter the garage then when you leave you re-enter your card to get the parking cost. At least that is the concept. Problem is, there is a gate attendant at the Exit gate that uses their card to open the gate for you and then you will be charged a Full 24 hour rate of $58+ just for the 4 hours parking that most do for Events at the Paramount. Ceilings are Extremely Low and the turns between each floor are extremely narrow. I have a full-size truck and it barely fit around the turns. Parking spots are very narrow and hard to get into. Garage is striped for small compact car parking only. VERY LIMITED Handicapped parking and stairs are used to get to/from elevators. If you drive a full size vehicle, do not park next to the concrete support pillars, you will spend a lot of time trying to back out of spot. If your vehicle has an overhead rack on it, then you will NOT fit in the garage. There is other parking garages within a block or two that are more accessible and cheaper. If you do park in this garage, DO NOT ALLOW the attendant to use their card at exit, simply use your own credit card to pay for the time you spent in the parked in the garage. Some places near the garage will give you a validation paper or ticket to be used for free parking so be sure to check with the place you are visiting about the validated parking. Take pictures of the validation ticket to keep for your own records and put your initials on it or some identifying method so they you can prove to them that it was yours if they charge your card for parking. No Receipts are given at the kiosk when...
Read moreMonday night, April 29, my boyfriend and I attended the Jose Gonzalez concert and parked at the designated parking garage where our ticket could be validated at the Paramount Theatre. (600 Congress Ave parking).
When leaving, I scanned the validated ticket and it prompted me to scan the ticket again (I didn’t realize what was needed was the initial ticket we pulled when entering the garage) and was confused. We called for help and dealt with an incredibly rude woman who told us, “well y'all just gon have to go back and get the ticket re-validated, there’s nothing I can do for y'all”.
So I responded with, “can’t you lift the gate and let us through please?” And she proceeded to tell us that she could but won’t because I “yelled” at her. It’s hard to hear in there so I had my voice raised the entire interaction. And then she hung up on me.
Experiences like this are super frustrating. She was absolutely no help, super rude and dismissive . She didn’t even suggest that we just needed to scan the ticket we pulled when first entering the garage. It’s obvious they don’t hire the best and brightest for roles like this...
Read moreI just got back from seeing Josh Johnson at the Paramount and had a pretty easy parking experience. Be forewarned, parking is TIGHT so if you have a larger car you're going to have a rough time - I drive a baby SUV and had to maneuver some very tight turns and spaces. I got there about an hour before the show and entered my phone number to enter the parking garage. Most of the levels were pretty jammed and the few spaces I saw were very, very tight So I wound up just driving to level 8 and there was plenty of parking and I could pick from any space I wanted. I bought a parking voucher from the bar at the Paramount when I got inside, then use that same parking voucher to exit. To exit I put in my phone number again, and then scan the parking voucher to automatically open the gates to exit. There are two exit lines to choose from and I was one of the first people to leave, so exiting was a breeze but I could see a line starting to form after the few cars behind me, so I can imagine there's a chance you'd be waiting a...
