My Head Spa | Austin — Local services in Austin

My friend and myself went to the head spa this week and it was an okay experience. I have been to other head spas before, and for the price they are charging, I would expect a LOT more.

For example. They are in a building with a lot of other businesses (not their fault) but it makes it really hard to relax when people are talking outside the door.

The hoses on the sinks made a terrible noise every time they moved them, which was constant. (Every other place I have been to just used the half dome rain water thing to rinse - way more soothing and comfortable) The wheels on the chairs made noises every time they moved, same with opening products. Also my girl was gone for like a solid 10 minutes??

I also thought we would have something over our eyes to block the light. It felt quick and not thought through.

What I expect from a head spa experience is deep relaxation... a really good scalp and head massage to get and dead skins cells off the scalp, and something that might put me to sleep. I think my scalp was massaged for a good 3 mins in the full hour. Otherwise it was what felt like scratching and rubbing to where my head was jolting. The "waterfall" drip was over my eyes which was honestly kinda painful having contacts (they put pressure on your eyes with a towel and that's it). And I just felt my head getting rocked the entire time. I will say the neck massage that was 5 mins was nice. But overall realistically, it's a glorified shampoo bowl treatment.

The room is not meant to fit two people. Someone has to awkwardly sit on a stool next to you where they share a Dyson tool to blow you out. It just felt cheap for spending $160 a person. I respect them trying to do their business, but at the same time it felt crowded and uncomfortable for the money we spent. But they were really nice so giving them 3 stars plus my 20% tip. I was visiting Austin and needed to fill some time. I have had head spa treatments twice previously and decided it would be a nice treat. I did a google search and found Daydreaming was within walking distance from my hotel (I like to walk…it was about 30 minutes away). COMMUNICATION WAS EXCELLENT!!! I called (I had one bad experience with online booking in Florida and no longer do it without speaking to someone) at 9am today (Monday) for a same day appointment. The gentleman that took my call confirmed that they could do an appointment, but needed to check with the esthetician about the exact time. He texted and called me to let me know that they could do an appointment at 11:00, but he wanted me to book online for 10:30 and he would change the appointment to 11. It worked perfectly!!! They texted me information about the salon and its location. They also sent me a phone number to call in case I had any problems. Upon arrival, the salon is located in a building of suites. Being Monday, not a lot of the suites were open. The main entrance was locked. I arrived early as I wasn’t sure how long it would actually take for me to find it. I texted and called the number I was given. Within a couple of minutes, an esthetician (who was with another client) came and let me in. I was able to sit in the A/C on a comfortable couch while I waited for my esthetician. She arrived a bit past 11:00 and immediately took me back to the studio.
