This location is Impossible to park, and the employees seem to be angsty college kids. Go to a different Warby Parker Austin location or do the right thing and BUY LOCAL.
Optometrists at Warby Parker earn around $20/hr. That's the going rate for a babysitter and far less than most restaurants pay their staff. In Austin, $40k/yr. salary (equivalent of $20/hr.) is not even close to a living wage. You will get what you pay for. Like with cheap minute clinics, these are the bottom of the barrel Optometrists or first year grads. For my eyes and my family, I'll take a real doctor with years of experience.
Warby Parker is not some little startup. It is a large multi-billion dollar, profit focused public corporation. Their primary goal is to make their stock go up. The primary levers they have to increase their stock value are payroll costs and the cost of lenses and frames. They clearly underpay their employees, it's not much of a stretch to assume they are "optimizing their supply chain" to focus on profits rather than quality.
Parking at Warby Parker Austin Central Park is difficult because it shares a lot with Central Market Grocery store, a hospital and a number of other large retailers. Parking is always difficult. Most of the spots are reserved and like many Austin lots, they have a comical section for "small cars" which inevitably means every truck and SUV takes two spots and you won't be able to park.
Warby Parker has a corporate policy that if you are more than 5 minutes late, they cancel the appointment, charge your card, and make you setup a new appointment for another time and day. If you are 6 minutes late, you're out of luck.
The quality of the Warby Parker glasses has declined in the past few years. Lenses rarely last more than a year before they become so scratched that they must be replaced (I barely ever wear them). I've tried their blue light, their plain, without coatings, with coatings.
Warby Parker is known for making cheap, disposable, Chinese made glasses and they do not warranty their products effectively. If you buy from them, you will definitely have to buy another pair in a year.
Save everybody the trouble, support your local businesses instead, go to a local eye doctor who can check your eyes for health issues, give you a prescription that you can take to any store you want. If cheap plastic is your thing, you can always take your prescription to Warby Parker online to experience the quality yourself.

Read moreThe associate assigned to me yesterday handed me an Ipad for me to complete an intake form for an eye exam. He was visibly bristling that I refused to answer the many pages of questions, which Warby Parker already knows since I am a return customer.
The associate then led me into a small room where he proceeded to ask me every single question and write down the answers himself. I've never felt so interrogated or seemingly trapped. I told the associate I was very feeling very uncomfortable and walked out to the main area. His body language was very uptight and he was clearly very offended.
I am not offended that he was offended yet neither did that bring any sense of feeling of goodwill or shopping enjoyment to that experience.
The eye doctor remains a 5-star experience.
The store manager is a decent manager. His demeanor was decidedly cautious though, after the gestapo associate called him to the back room for a private conversation about me.
Keep me in a tiny room and punish me with the tone of your voice as you ask every question that I refused to answer on your Ipad? Dozens of questions? Like who wants to sit through that?!?!?!
I will probably shop somewhere less pedantic.
UPDATE: Eye glasses direct can make me better lenses for less money, and I don't have be without my existing glasses for 3 weeks. Warby Parker isn't keeping my business because they are difficult to deal with at both the junior associate level and corporate. I remember when y'all were hip, smart, and affordable.
From bottom to top, Warby Parker COULD HAVE REMAINED WONDERFUL BUT CHOSE NOT TO. Your data entry is beyond stupid, and your offended associate actually has offended me, since I'm thinking of you again...
Read moreI had an excellent shopping experience at Warby Parker recently, and I highly recommend them to anyone in need of new glasses. The staff at the store were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and they made the process of finding the perfect pair of glasses stress-free.
I appreciated that the store had a wide variety of frames to choose from, and the staff was happy to help me try on as many pairs as I needed until I found the right fit. They were also able to offer me helpful advice on which frames would work best with my face shape and style.
Once I had selected my frames, the staff was able to place the order for me right then and there. I appreciated that they were able to walk me through the process and answer any questions I had along the way.
When my glasses arrived, I was thrilled with the quality of the product. The frames were sturdy but lightweight which made them very comfortable to wear and they looked even better than I remembered. I also appreciated that Warby Parker offers a one-year warranty on all of their glasses - it gives me peace of mind knowing that I can trust the quality of their products.
Overall, my shopping experience at Warby Parker was fantastic, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new pair of glasses. Their selection, knowledgeable staff, and quality of products are all top-notch. I will definitely be returning to Warby Parker for my future eyewear needs! For anyone visiting the Central Park location, I would highly recommend working with Monica or Meaghan. They both went above and beyond to make my shopping experience both...
