We had expressly asked the manager, Arlay if the fragrances in the store are considered clean by industry standard as well as natural before purchasing. He was emphatic that they were. We needed to know before purchasing given our daughter-in-law can not tolerate any fragrances that do not fit into the natural category. She consistently gets a terrible headache accompanied by nausea. However clean scents work for her. With that being said that was what we were hoping to buy and we made the mistake of trusting Arlay. As it turns out, after spending over $150 we learned that none of the scents in the store are free of chemicals and furthermore on the Yuka APP were rated a failing 27%. While writing a review like this is not my personal style, I am doing so because when I called Arkay explaining the situation, he deceivingly asked me to come back in to the store and he would happily accept the return. However, after driving a half an hour out of my way , he informed me that he would not take it back. I found him to have quite the audacity to not have only sold us a fragrance under blatantly false pretenses just to make a sale, but then promised a credit he refused to give. Needless to say his unwillingness to follow through on his promise and his wasting of my time was distasteful. Furthermore dealing with him was akin to Aesop’s Fable “The Emporer and His New Clothes”. I made the mistake of trusting him. There were no ingredients listed anywhere on the bottles in the store or even on the bottle that we purchased. I will never shop there again, needless to say and I would highly recommend anyone looking for a clean fragrance to do the same. This brand and company used to be my favorite of all Italian cosmetics and fragrances. Suddenly the window motif and the fragrances that I and all My friends loved is no longer the same. Even there labeling is so tacky now. They decorate the store with fake dead looking flowers and vines. The staff is unfriendly and seem to be detached from the products. The old staff and managers were very involved and interested in the customers and knew there products inside and out. Then apparently the company was sold out to some large corporation. They fired all the old staff and replaced them with people who have no experience nor passion for what they sold. The prices are increased. The labels are ugly and cheap looking compared to the old traditional Italian iconic labels. Too sad to be only interested in the bottom line and selling for masses. Worst experience ever at this store. Apparently they recently sold the company and fired all the staff that I’ve known for 10 plus years. The guy in the store today was completely worthless and knows nothing. Also completely incapable of helping multiple parties in the store and completely understaffed on the holiday weekend.
