On the corner of Howard and Mulberry, the Downtown Cultural Arts Center touts a nice venue for events like the Dew More Youth Spoken Word Festival I attended. The Downtown Cultural Arts Center was certainly the place to have it, as it has three levels graced with beautiful art work done by local artist for purchase.
This event had the blessing of three great DJ's. DJ Mysterious, DJ Focus and DJ Harvey D. The Executive Director of Dew More Baltimore, Kenneth Morrison, was personable and hosted a fun event sponsored by local businesses and larger business like Baltimore City Public Schools, Enoch Pratt, T. Rowe Price, The Mayor's Office and others.
He stated "I wanted to create a platform young people could have a space where their voices could be heard and potentially impact change within our city; spured on by our youth." This event marks their 5th anniversary.
I had the priveledge to attend with the young men at BBA. This event was held to culminate a series of workshops that took place in 25 schools within Baltimore City. The workshops will also be held at Banneker Blake Academy for Arts ans Science, after school, in three separate sessions.

This was to be a Jazz Brunch, but the Jazz Band never actually performed. The singers (they were great) had the dj play their track music for background. The jazz band was to play for the singers but didn't. The Jazz Band played one song, that's it. Hopefully, the next Jazz Brunch Event, the Jazz Band, will play at least 5...
