The Place Lounge — Restaurant in Baltimore

Came in the small spot for my friend’s birthday, and was stopped by some lady with a fade as soon as I stepped inside. She immediately said my friend and I could not come in because we were too young. I said what do you mean? I’m 31 and he is 36. She said yeah, he can stay you can’t. I said I only came for a drink it’s my friend’s bday. She said, yeah it’s “35 and up and it’s my birthday, please don’t ruin my birthday right now.” I then turned to my friend who is is 36 and started recording. I turned back to the lady and said, “I just want to make sure I am getting put out because I’m not 35”, she shook her head yes and gestured toward the door.

I said “oh okay that’s fine but that’s illegal af.” I told my friend goodbye and then she followed us outside asking what happened and I told her the lady put me out because I wasn’t 35 but I wanted her to stay and have a good time.

While clubs may have a preference, unless she has a class C liquor license, it’s illegal to deny me service because I’m not 35. She didn’t mention any other reason besides my age. I asked...
