This apartment building (North and South towers @ Charles Plaza) is infested with roaches & is not at all in a safe area, move somewhere else!
Since my move-in date of July 17, 2025, I have never spent a single night in the apartment due to these issues. Specifically: Pest (Roach) Infestation: Despite repeated reports, there continues to be an active roach problem. 07/17/25: This was my scheduled move in date; I noticed sightings in kitchen same day but was unsure what the insects were. 07/24/25: I had Terminix pest Control service come out to confirm whether there were roaches or not (this was confirmed, see attached report). 07/25/25: I called the leasing office and spoke with Cameron at ~10:59am for 15 minutes, during which he stated that I would be eligible for a transfer/move to another unit (which would later be 15-205) and that Orkin Pest Control would be coming to spray the unit. 08/01/25: I went in person to the leasing office and spoke with Tiffany regarding the continued roach after seeing more roaches in the apartments after Orkin came. 09/08/25: During a walk through with one of the leasing office representatives (Hailey) of the new unit I was scheduled to transfer to, I personally observed roaches in that space as well, as did Hailey. This clearly demonstrates that transferring units would not resolve the infestation. 09/09/25: I spoke with another resident in a common area at ~5:30pm who informed me she has been dealing with a roach infestation as well and lives on the 19th floor. She states she has expressed concerns to leasing/management as well. This is contradictory to the claims Steve made when we spoke in person on 09/08/25. Security Concerns: My unit was subject to a break-in, which I have raised with the leasing office multiple times. Steve has stated that this may be a fault of my own but given that I reside on the 20th floor, always maintain both sets of keys, and am vigilant about my surroundings, it is highly unlikely that this incident resulted from my own actions. Instead, this raises serious concerns about how access to units is managed by building staff or contractors, particularly since my unit has been effectively vacant since move-in. A Police report was filed on 09/05/25, card provided by Officer is attached. After not having been in the apartment since August 1st, as I was preparing to remove belongings on 09/05/25, I realized someone has been taking showers, sleeping, and eating in my apartment without my knowledge or authorization/consent. Condition of the Apartment: Issues I previously reported remain unresolved. The lack of responsiveness further contributes to my conclusion that the building is not being properly managed. There were three specific issues I raised during my initial walk-through in this apartment on 07/17/25 that have yet to be fixed, Steve confirmed this as well on 09/08/25 as he indicated no maintenance has been done in the apartment.
Keep in mind I paid 2 months total for an apartment that wasnāt habitable and received nothing back, so if you want to be in the same predicament as I was then move hereā¦but if youāre a sane, rational person you obviously would avoid this...
Ā Ā Ā Read more07/08/25 - I recently moved into a studio apartment on 06/30/25. Wanted to wait a week before giving a review. I worked with Hali as my leasing agent. She was quick to respond, answered all my questions, and was really welcoming. A leasing baddie and highly recommend working with her. As a queer non-binary individual she was very respectful.
The leasing process was easy, and as someone who credit was hit by school and loans. I was approved. For deposit you have two options. Refundable deposit of the same price as rent or a non-refundable deposit under 200. Utilities and gym are included. For a studio with a walk in closet, I'm paying below 1150 in rent. Parking is included here which is an extra 170/month. Very easy to use and completely digital. There are two elevators that are quick and always working. The place has a great front desk who are always there and available as well. Very friendly staff. Really helpful when moving in.
My place was cleaned, repainted, with an amazing view. I always see the cleaning staff around the building fixing things, cleaning hallways, or taking out recycling. There is a laundry room as well. It's digital too and you can use the app to check on the time so that you do not have to stay downstairs and wait. If you want an all-inclusive space, in an accessible location, that's reasonable quiet, especially if you work from home. I would highly recommend. This place is always pet friendly. There is no pet deposit, just mostly fee which is less than 75 per pet. The gym is always clean and easy to use as well for my fellow gym/wellness gangstas.
There is also a street market and food court outside. Decent prices and easily accessible. Plus the resident portal is easily streamlined and there is a chat where residents moving in or out communicate. Great way to find furniture or other items as the place is unfinished. They also do month to month or yearly leases. Plus they have a move in notification that reminds you of the steps like changing your mailing address, mounting your tv, setting up internet, and recommended moving companies that will give you discounts. Really a one stop shop.
I would say the only issue was when I moved in there was roaches. But I let management know and the next day the pest inspector came and sprayed. Which the company is Orkin. As someone from Florida, they are a really reliable and swift company.
The other issue is if folks are not familiar with the area, can be complicated for guest to find you when putting address in. But that's a minor issue compared to the pros of the place.
Will update once more when I have been here for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHere is the good. The Bad and The ugly. Will Start with the bad 1- this management doesn't like to meet it's tenant. Every thing is done through email or have front desk page them. 2.The kitchen is as old as the building. If you like to cook forget it not enough space and the electric oven not worth wasting a meal on it, but it does what I need do for now. Unless itās an upgraded one bedroom. 3-The gym and the laundry are on.the same floor. But you'll need to leave your driver's license at front desk to use the gym inconvenient, I use it when the door is left open accidentally . 4-The laundry room is not that good, always breaking down ,overflow with water and smells sometimes but it's cheap $185 per each wash and dry The ugly! 1-Basically the smell of weed I don't care for it. So i burn toast to get rid if it. It works, it's getting better though. 2-II don't like the way they charge for utilities I hardly use but pay more than what I use.also charge extra fee for admin which is a rip off.
The Good ! 1-The location is perfect for me and my work. They have a beer and wine a Grocery store and a fesh roasted nuts store which I love. There's few shopping centers within 5/10 minutes drive. 2-Front desk are very friendly and always helpful. 3-The one bedroom is big enough for a couple. 4-They do keep the building clean. Its quite. You only hear the siren once a while no big deal when you live in the city. 5-Rent is reasonable for what they offer Parking is extra $170 a month. 6-Electric, water, trash around $85/$110 7-They do a good job of fixing stuff when needed. Overall i like it and gave it a 5 star. The good over weights the bad and the ugly. I have yet to meet the manager of the building. Hopefully management works on that. that defeats the management name lol i thought southern means welcoming/warm and kind. Although they're good with emails and phone calls People of Baltimore are very nice not joking either! Baltimore gets a bad reputation but I'm glad i moved here from Rockville. Just be careful with your car and renter's insurance it will go up or don't change address. Hope...
