Bliss Jewelers — Local services in Bar Harbor

We have come to this jewelry store for the last several years and have always chosen a piece of jewelry in the Bar Harbor, Maine store. The owners (two older gentlemen) have been very helpful and pleasant. We decided this year to take a cruise that ended up in Bar Harbor and decided to go by to say hello and to also let them know that we had sent someone that we had met from the ship to the store to buy the same diamond starfish pendant we purchased last year for $3,000. When we went in the say that we were just there to say hello and we wanted to see if they still sold this piece of jewelry so that we would feel confident that the referral would not be for naught. Well, after voicing this to the young black gentleman that was in the store, he was so unbelievably rude, clapping and saying yeah because I was not there to purchase but to say hi and to let them know someone was coming to look for this particular piece of jewelry. As if this was not insulting enough, he then went on to say "we'll make sure to get you your commission" after this. How embarrassing, humiliating and unpleasant this gentleman was to us. Needless to say, we will NEVER return to purchase anything from this store again (we had made 3 purchases so far). You should probably consider who you are hiring for this type of position, and steer clear from employees such as this. Never have we ever been so furious with a worker at a store as we were in this instance. Steer clear from this store unless you enjoy being treated badly by rude, ignorant...

I brought my wife into Bliss Jewelers while waiting to get into a nearby restaurant, hoping to find a nice diamond necklace for her and at the same time, not get ripped off. To my delight, as we were passing by, we were greeted by Manoj. The wife was hesitant in going inside, but with Manoj and I twisting her arm, she agreed to check it out. She was unaware that I was looking to buy her a diamond for our anniversary... #Surprise Manoj was nice. He found a necklace (which is what I wanted to get her) that matched her wedding ring nicely. He also helped her by selecting a chain that would allow the pendant to hang and display properly. I believe the price was fair. As we were completing the order, the restaurant sent us a text stating our table was ready. Well, Manoj encouraged us to go grab our table and he would finish up the paperwork (appraisal) & bring it to us at our table in the restaurant. He delivered on his promise in a timely manner. I like how this gentleman does his business and that he is a man of his word. If you're in Bar Harbor, wanting to purchase jewelry, I suggest you go to Bliss and seek/find Manoj... I cannot say enough about the outstanding customer service that I received. I bought a gorgeous diamond bangle 5 years ago from Bliss in Maine while on vacation. 2 years later broke it and lost several of the diamonds. I live in NY and could not find anyone to repair it. I called the store and was told to send it to them they will repair no charge!! Well life got in the way.
