I decided to purchase a new guitar for my son so I stopped by. I prefer shopping locally even if it means paying a little more. I went in and looked around for ten minutes or so. During that ten minutes of me walking around with cash money in my pocket not one employee acknowledged my existence. It was only after I approached a guitar hanging behind what is apparently an off limits area did anyone say a word to me. That was of course the employee chastising me for going close to see the instrument. I didn't realize that cluttered area was off limits. The employee was then shocked that I didn't want to further check out the guitar. Turns out, I wouldn't have really been interested in anything they sell anyway. Nearly everything they sell is Chinese manufactured, low quality product. I went to Austin that weekend and purchased a great guitar from people who were interested in my needs. AWESOME MUSIC STORE!!! Blake’s has a wide variety of guitars basses by all the best manufacturers and big names. They also have some one of a kind hand made items. What a great place! The staff is family and they definitely treat you like family. I was able to test drive any guitar or instrument I saw. The owner even sat in on an impromptu jam session. He even showed me how to play a couple songs on guitar that I asked about. I will tell all my friends from Sam Marcos to Austin and even Houston is worth the drive. It is located in downtown Bastrop. I came with my wife and daughter who also plays guitar and bass guitar and we got something for each of us and we were even able to get an item to repair my father-in-law’s acoustic guitar. I went in looking for a NEW guitar pedal. I found one I liked, we tested it out in the store, bagged it up and I left. The salesman could have told me that it needed an ac adapter (not included) in order to work. After I drove the 45 minutes home, and figured out that I did not have the power cable, I called Blake's and explained what happened. The guys reply was that he was sure I could find one somewhere. I ended up peeling the Velcro tape off the back to find a poorly wired 9 volt battery connection. The pedal was obviously used and sold to me as new and the customer service ended when in...
