Pizza Hut — Restaurant in Bastrop

Classic place that still delivers. Pun intended! I used to work at Pizza back in the late 80's. Unfortunately the groovy atmosphere is absent. No video jukebox, no more music in general. The arcade room is gone too. Just some flat screen monitors broadcasting sporting event previews and highlights with the volume turned down so low nothing can be understood. Not necessarily bad when you consider the content on the screens. At this point the predictability of professional sports leaves absolutely nothing to the imagination. Throw the ball, catch it, run with the ball, hit the ball, kick the ball, racecar goes fast in circles, person punches the other person, etc, etc... so that's the focal point of the atmosphere at pizza hit these days. Having said that, the establishment was tidy, organized, clean and comfortable. The service was super aside from the appearance of the waitress who was adorning an unappealing chunk of metal in her nostril usually designated for farm animals. Not what you want to see handling your food when you're dining out. It harkens the attributes of an unsanitary person. Nevertheless, the waitress was kind and courteous. The food was great! The honey Bar-B-Que chicken wings were excellent! They had a Chinese appeal to them. No glasses of ice for the drinks. Everything came in bottles. That didn't help when the bill came. 30.00 for what they called a 12.00 pizza. One bottled water, a 3.00 serving of tea that came in a pint plastic bottle plus the wings. Eh. It's normalized high pricing. So all in all it was good enough to get again but next time picking up only the food and buying drinks with...

This is by not a "classic" Pizza Hut. The staff are rude, the atmosphere in general was uninviting and the tables were covered with left over easter table cloths, which tells me the staff are too lazy to do their jobs in keeping a clean and inviting atmosphere.

When I think of a classic Pizza Hut, I am imagining the warm and welcoming restaurant with the excited staff that parents would take their kids to cash in their book it club tickets for a personal pan pizza and a soda in the iconic red cups. There were a few patrons in the restaurant eating, yet I saw no red cups. What I did see was 2 liter bottles on the tables with disposable cups.

To top off the experience, when I politely thanked the server for her attention and notified her that this classic location did not meet the standard of a Pizza Hut Classic location, she huffed and puffed at me and wished me a "blessed day" with as much sarcastic disdain that she could muster, as if she was actually offended that I decided to take my child somewhere else for a better dining experience.

Plainly put, this is a run of the mill Pizza Hut with the standard uncaring staff that is standard for modern Pizza Huts. There is NOTHING "classic" about this location other than the branding nothing the name and the exterior look of...

The waitress didn't acknowledge us when we walked in. She did look at us twice, so we decided to seat ourselves. We sat down and waited about 10 minutes to be acknowledged, then she finally brought us our menus. We ordered drinks and got those right away. Getting a refill was a hassle! We ordered boneless wings and ended up with someone else's wings, so about 10 minutes later the waitress took the wrong wings from us (we never touched the order that was wrong) and took them to the people who ordered them and gave us our correct order. Then finally we got our pizza. The waitress ordered us a cheese pizza, when we asked for meet lover's. They did apologize and correct it. One employee was watching the game while "cleaning." So we never heard back from our waitress, so my friend went to the counter to ask for a to go box and our ticket. Too bad we weren't invited to the kitchen area where there was a loud party going on with the employees! I try not to complain, because I know how it is to be short handed or busy at a work place but when there's employees who are having a good ol' time in the back there's no reason for customers to have an experience like We had!
