I received a facial treatment+ pumpkin peel last Friday (July 24th, 2015). After the treatment, my face experienced severe discomfort which I knew it's not normal. I went back to the salon right away and my esthetician and the staffs told me that just mild irritations and it would heal in no time. Unfortunately, it didn't heal or go away even the next day and I suffered severe pain at the same night. So, I went to my doctor for evaluation. My diagnosis is contact dermatitis due to chemical agent. My skin was damaged by the chemical that used in the salon. The chemical which used in the salon caused abrasion and inflammation on my face. I emailed the salon and the owner replied "every person is different" I quote and they have never had an adverse skin reaction from a customer. I do understand everyone has different skin type, however, I feel as though the spa provides a service to clients, suggesting them to do something, while the client put his/her whole trust in the hands of the esthetician. We believe what is recommended should be good for us even if I have "sensitive skin". This is all because I TRUST a licensed esthetician's knowledge of ALL skin types. No information was either given as to the process and after care, then blaming clients for having sensitive skin and provide no additional way to alleviate this discomfort they experienced. This is an extremely irresponsible way to conduct such business practice when I believed I was getting professional service and care when I paid the business. It is frustrating to me that they are allowing me to believe it is the problem of my skin type. The poor client care before and after a treatment is also disappointing. It would have been much more reassuring and much more emotionally comforting if they had showed more genuine concern- asked me to come back to the clinic so someone could take a look, personally check in to see if my skin is getting better. There was none of that in their email, only that they will tell the esthetician that it doesn't happen again. Be aware of this salon. They are nice only if there is...
Read moreThey had to reschedule my appointment a few times because the woman who was going to do it was out. I finally told them I do not care, I will just go with anyone. So…I had a facial today with Roxy, and overall my skin feels great. However my esthetician, was SO talkative and I could not actually relax and enjoy the facial. I felt like I was being interrogated. I learned too much personal information. I am fine with them explaining what is happening but there was just too many questions she was asking me for a 60 min facial. When I thought we were done talking, and I hoped to get a few minutes of silence, she would just keep asking me more questions. It made me feel uncomfortable. And when it was done, she just said “okay, you’re done.” And just walked out. The only thing I wish she would’ve talked more about was what she was doing to my face at the time. For $180 facial plus tip, it was not worth it. I would not go back again.
Lastly, when I was checking out, the front desk receptionist kept telling me that three different cards were coming back invalid. I told her that it was probably the way she was inputting it and she proceeded to tell me “my mother sometimes doesn’t realize when her cards are not activated, maybe that’s what’s going on with you“ to say that I was offended by what she said is an understatement. I had to help her figure out that my cards were not invalid that she was not selecting the right card from the drop-down menu, I don’t even know how to use their POS system, and I had to figure it out for her. For me it was a disappointing experience, I would ask for a refund, but it’s not worth it at this...
Read moreI had a terrible experience at this spa. I went for a manicure and pedicure appointment at 12.45 pm with Lina, which should have taken one hour and thirty minutes, but I was still not done by 2:30 PM, although I started on time. I had a follow-up massage scheduled at 3:00 PM, and the lady doing my nails, Lina, rushed me and offered to switch the appointments as she had a customer at 2.30 pm. I agreed to help her and went for the massage. However, I had to wait more than 15 minutes for my massage turn. Once I came out of the massage, I was made to wait for more than 30 minutes to finish another customer without any prior notice or apology. When I spoke to the manager over the phone, she was unapologetic and dismissed my concerns as a timing issue. The only person who was nice to me was Caitlin in the reception, who waived my service charge and calmed me down. After I had done my manicure, I messed up one of my nails, but Lina refused to fix it, saying she had another customer. I had to wait for five hours for a service that should have taken two hours, and the staff's behavior was insulting. I ended up leaving with messed up nails and frustrated, when I was supposed to leave the spa relaxed. I canceled my membership that I had for years in this place, and would not recommend this place to anyone. Terrible...
