If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience at the Bellevue Square Free People was disappointing on every level — and unfortunately, not for the first time.
I walked in, made eye contact with an employee at the register, smiled — and she frowned at me without a word. A few minutes later, I watched her greet other customers cheerfully. Then, while exiting the fitting rooms, I overheard a staff member say “ew, she dresses like a substitute teacher.” I was the only person in the store not dressed like a teenage workout apparel ad, so the comment was clearly aimed at me.
I’ve also experienced racial profiling in this store — followed while browsing, while young white shoppers were left alone. Judging from other reviews, I’m not the only one. The staff behavior here is consistently rude, cliquey, and judgmental.
And the store itself? Filthy. Dust everywhere, neglected fitting rooms, and clothing on the racks that feels used or mishandled. For a brand charging $150 for polyester, this is embarrassing.
Free People’s Washington State locations seriously need some TLC — both in how they train staff and how they maintain their stores. Clean your space. Train your...
Read moreWe had last minute changes to our wedding that resulted in us having to change to a backyard venue due to COVID. I came in on a whim hoping to find a boho dress for my reception, I didn’t see anything that would work for me so I grabbed a couple bralettes (because you have to they are the best) and checked out. While I was checking out the girl I believe her name was Caitlin I so wish I remembered, asked if I found everything ok. I told her what I was originally there for and she got all excited and said wait I think I have something! She disappears and comes back with bins of returns I believe they were, she digs out the PERFECT dress. I mean I tried it on and it fit perfectly! I cried she almost cried, my mom would have hugged her if not for COVID. Seriously amazing. Would always recommend this store and this brand. You guys...
Read moreMy wife LOVES this place, it's her go-to store to splurge at. Bellevue Square is still great, there's great food and entertainment nearby as well. The customer service has gotten better over time, the selection at this location is better than others. The Sweet Factory is across the way so you can bribe your kiddos to be good while you try on a few outfits. It's 4 to 5 $'s out of 5 though... so enjoy that if you can. All in all, fun...
