Beware of this terrible place if you love your cats! I left 2 of my loving cats at this place for 4 nights this March. I had to go through a horrible situation of losing one of my cats and the other one in a terrible situation whom I had to rush immediately to emergency to stabilize! I now realize that I should have read all the reviews before boarding my cats.
I had provided all the medical records for both of my healthy cats at the time of admission to this facility. After going over the records, the manager at this place pretended that one of my cats that survived needed vaccination which they would take care of by themselves.I did a bad job of trusting these illiterates, who then vaccinated to my other cat instead of the one she mentioned, without even consulting any veterinarian!! I guess my loving cat was affected by this and died in her sleep ( as they mentioned! They gave some lame reasons to not share the camera tapes when I asked for it eventually!). I received some pics of my cats playing in a room the next day, my cats looking sad and being forced for the pics! Thereafter, there were no fake pics sent either. The staff forced my dehydrated cats to take bath and put a lot of stress on them as they run business!! I believe they didn't care for my cats, as my cats were getting dehydrated day by day and needed some immediate emergency admissions if they were really watched over. Of course, the cats can't speak for themselves, that's why we need some humans with IQ to monitor them and give appropriate care in our absence. The staff is a bunch of horrible illiterates who doesn't understand English or didn't bother to answer and dodged my questions when I confronted them after seeing this horror at the end. When I went to pick up my cats, all other cats were whining in that small cell and I felt they were denied food from several hours at least. Also, the door between the suites for my cats was closed, which was a double suite which they mentioned that they would keep it open for my cats to be together. Given all these reasons, I feel some foul play here.. When I took up this matter with the management, they came back with lies that my cat had pre-existing issues, so it died !! How insane it is when even the other cat collapsed at my place out of dehydration after I picked him up and I had to rush him to emergency! I also showed the records to vet to confirm that there were no pre-existing conditions with my cats!! It was very upsetting to go over all these unwanted process which me or my cats didn't deserve! Overall, the management is greedy and staff don't have any compassion/soul to care for the cats. I suggest if any of you have any complaints against this facility, raise your concerns with SPCA immediately so that something can be done to stop this terrible distress to caring owners. The laws are very limited which these kind of places are taking advantage of. The city/SPACA should upgrade those outdated laws which is favoring such places to thrive inspite of their horrible service. But sharing the grievances would still help, please do so! My cats would have survived even if I had left them home alone with food and water!! I feel so guilty to do this horrible thing to them! Never leave your cats in this facility if you really love and care for them genuinely, as the pain is too...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe love The Cats' Inn. We have been boarding Cher there for over 8 years, even though we live in the city and have to drive down the peninsula to take her there, because we know we can trust that sheāll be in capable hands. Sheās a senior now and on meds which The Cats' Inn staff handle so effortlessly it seems (she always gives me and my wife a hard time at home, but I guess when you take care of so many different cats you get used to it). We used to travel quite a bit (although not as much these days) and every time Cher stays there she receives lots of TLC and attention by their cat loving staff. They send us regular updates with pictures each time she boards and we love seeing her roaming around like she owns the place. They also do grooming and we have had Cher groomed many times. Weāve even tried their famous lion cut, but she didnāt like that too much, so these days itās just a bath and trim. The groomers there are gentle and do whatever they can to not stress the cats. Even when we have issues (which sometimes happen in 8 years of boarding) theyāve always resolved things quickly and very professionally. Weāre also very impressed by how great the place smells and when we asked about this they pointed to an impressive ventilation system (ask them to show it to you sometime) that continuously scrubs the air. But more than anything what we love the most is their kindness and love they have always shown to our little Cher. We have recommended them to several of our friends, and theyāve also been impressed with the consistent great care for their cats.
We DEFINITELY recommend The Cats' Inn! Keep up...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe staff members were very friendly and helpful, however I did have several concerns about over crowding during the holidays that my 2 cats were there. When I made the reservation, the staff member told me that every kennel was filled except the one I reserved for a 2 week stay. I received 1 holiday photo and 1 update at the end of the week with very little information except that āthey were doing fineā. Upon picking up my cats after the new year I walked into the building where it smelled very strongly of scented cat litter boxes and excrement. My cats were handed off to me, a letter was given and then staff hurried away to get the next customers animals. The staff member at the desk told me they had 40 animals going out that day. When I got to the car, the cats were both sneezing and strongly smelled like scented cat litter. By that night both had diarrhea and were coughing horribly. I ended up taking them to the vet, found out they had a virus, got medication, and had to clean, give meds, and clean again for 2 weeks before they were healthy again. One of my cats had a nail completely missing from scratching at the cage or door, and there was a miscommunication about the food and my cats received half of their daily prescribed food that I brought for their 2 week stay. They had lost 2 lbs each by the time I took them to the vet. My assumption is that there were not enough staff members available to care for and clean up after so many animals over the holidays. My complaint is not to the staff but to the management for not notifying owners of a potential problem with illness and...
