We are thankful to the R.A.D. Camp Program and Camp Guides for making it possible for our son to attend 12 discounted sessions. Their generosity went far beyond financial help, it gave our family space to breathe, worry less, and watch Jayden grow his confidence.
Our son likes to explore and use his imagination to create spooky stories, especially one around the Halloween Tree. He likes to hug trees, identify trees and flowers. Since his CAMP experience, he requested a hiking stick because he would like to go hiking as a family. Also, he stops to look at fallen or cut trees and talk about what might have happened to them. Literally, to "stop to smell the roses" per say.
Like me, he often feels most comfortable at home. Because leaving home is a challenge, the R.A.D. Sprouts program was ideal as their message is āLeave No Child Inside.ā Being able to visit State Parks and play with friends gave him something we couldnāt recreate on our own: a safe, welcoming space to discover nature, make friends, and build confidence.
R.A.D. Camp has given him beyond a camp experience, the program and Guides offered kindness, a space to connect with others with similar interests like Minecraft, singing monsters, funny songs and overall, a sense...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLove RAD Camps. My kids had fun filled days with awesome counselors at incredible places like Lake Billy Chinook, Fort Rock Park and Mt. Bachelor. If your little one gets car sick, this may not be the camp for you as the drives to these destinations from Bend are about an hour (and sometimes more) each way. Why not 5 stars, then? As a parent, spending ~$100 per day to send my child to the camp, I found it really weird that they don't share photos of the adventures with the parents unless the parents pay for the photos (anywhere from $10 for a single photo to $30 for all photos for a single day, meaning if your child attends for a week, you're looking at $50 to get a single pic from each day of camp or $150 to gain full photo access for the week). Yet, they as a business use the photos of the children in marketing content and on social media. It's a small thing but just feels weird given the cost of the camp. Giving parents free access to photos of their children feels like a way to easily improve the customer experience. Otherwise...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI just canāt say enough wonderful things about this camp! My kids are 4 and 6 and this is their first summer in RAD sprouts. From the moment I called to find out more information (the owner answered!) I have had nothing but the best experience. The counselors are amazing, the vans they use are new and highly visible on the roads, they use some of the best car seats and boosters available, and my kids are dirty and happy at the end of the day. I could keep going but Iāll end with this - there is something really special about this camp thatās hard to describe, and I know itās the only summer camp we will ever need! Thank you to Chance and everyone at RAD camps, what youāre doing is so important and so...
