Underground Book Gallery — Local services in Bend

I had an unfortunate experience at this bookstore due to the shop owner’s unnecessary rudeness. After browsing through the books, I quietly waited for my girlfriend, spending a few moments on my phone. Instead of being asked politely or given a reason, I was abruptly told to leave, despite not disturbing anyone or being in the way.

On top of that, the store itself was poorly organized, making it difficult to find anything of interest. While I love supporting local businesses, the combination of poor customer service and the disarray of the store left me...

What a gem! Hidden, quirky, quaint, huge inventory, great prices, killer tunes, and the decor of the place...my daughter and I had a wonderful time visiting with the gentle spirited woman in charge that day. Very knowledgeable of the available inventory, and the location of the many, many books. We spent about an hour inside, and we each walked out with a book in hand...me, a John Adams biography by David McCullough, for just 10 bucks...like new. Awesome place, support local, correct?...

I am obsessed! The two workers there were extremely friendly and understanding of people who just came in to look around. I was passing through Bend and stopped to walk around downtown. This place is so cute, the vibs are amazing, not like any other bookstore I have been before! Prices are reasonable! There was a table for arts/crafts and beautiful handmade jewelry for sale. It's right next to a local bar. Coming back next time...
