The service here was so quick! I asked the server for a recommendation, didn’t even check out the menu. They suggested the Khao Soi Curry and it was perfect for the rainy day. Hit exactly the spot I needed it to without even knowing. The hot tea was great too and already prepared so I didn’t need to spend forever waiting on my herbal tea to brew. I was dining alone for lunch and was definitely the minority in that. Most groups had 3 or more people and with the emphasis on small plates to share it’s perfect for a group. My dish was great for solo dining though so don’t be discouraged by the group vibe. There is full service bar seating if you don’t want to take up much space. This isn’t your traditional “Americanized” Thai restaurant but the dishes are diverse enough to please any palate. I ordered my food at medium spice because I wasn’t sure how their heat scale compared to other places I’ve been. I really enjoy spice and it didn’t seem hot to me but still had full flavor. If you aren’t sure about what to get or how much spice, just ask, the staff was very helpful and polite. However, do your due diligence and pay attention to signage that tells you it’s northern Thai cuisine which explicitly states no pad Thai on the menu. I heard people ask this even though it’s on the sign right as you walk in the building. If you’re not sure it’s for you, just give it a go because I’m certain you won’t be disappointed!

A chef from another restaurant highly recommended this place to us. Since we love Thai food, and I have spent time in Chiang Mai, we had to give it a try. When we arrived (7:15 p.m. on a Sunday), they had no tables available for the evening, but they did have two seats available at the bar, which we gladly accepted. While waiting to be seated, at least ten other people came in as walk-ins and had to be turned away. It is highly advised to make reservations here! They mentioned a sister restaurant a few blocks away. The team is very friendly and attentive even with every seat taken. The menu has a lot to offer, but you won't find all the typical Thai dishes such as Pad Thai on the list. They specialize in Northern Thai food. There is a full bar that had lots of yummy drinks to choose from. The bartender had a good feel for the menu and was very helpful to those needing assistance with their menu selection. I walked my husband through the menu, and he decided on a red curry dish with rockfish and I, a green curry dish with prawns. As a starter, we went with the grandfather's Tom Kah soup. It came in a flame heated kettle. EVERY. SINGLE. THING. WAS. SO. DELICIOUS! I'm not exaggerating even the slightest! It's an exceptional food experience. Make those reservations. I can't wait to go back and try other dishes!

I wanted to love Wild Rose. We had a reservation and I was excited about the menu. While we know Thai food well, we had a few questions because we wanted to make sure we were ordering the appropriate dish for our 5 year old, and also make sure we were ordering appropriately sharing between 2 adults. Our seafood dish was wonderful, but things went downhill when we made a simple inquiry about the internal temperature of our chicken dish. It was pink, cool and fleshy. I kindly explained to the waiter that I prefer my chicken more done and I was brushed off about the inconvenience to the kitchen. When the next server came by, I was asked if everything was ok, to which I pointed out that I had questions about the chicken being appropriately cooked. I received an abrupt “yeah, that’s normal” with a blanket answer of how it is prepared/cooked. From that point forward, I could tell we were an annoyance to staff. They stopped checking in, and we could see their attitude toward our table. The only time they passed by was to offer a condescending remark to my 5 year old that “sticky rice is meant to be eaten with hands” (she has some sensory items that she preferred to eat with a fork so we were finding ways to help her). Meanwhile, they watched the chicken sit there, not eaten and they did not care to offer solutions. What they also didn’t know was that I previously had a food borne illness, so I am cautious to eat anything that appears far undercooked. We received our full bill $81 without a shred of care from the establishment/staff. This is the 1st time I tipped below 20-25% but in this situation it was very warranted and even 10-15% seemed generous for this situation.

We just arrived in town around 5pm but I knew that we would probably need to make a reservation for dinner someplace in town. We decided to drive down to Wild Rose since you couldn’t make a same day reservation online (like they advise on their recorded voice message). Glad we went down there. We were able to make an 8pm reservation. This place stays busy and does a lot of takeout orders. This is Northern Thai Cuisine. That means it is spicy hot (I didn’t know that but I do now). The dishes tasted really good. All the dishes we saw coming from the kitchen looked tasty. I like some heat but I was careful since the waiter warned us about the heat. We ordered Larb Mueng (Northern Style Larb Salad) as an appetizer- refreshing with the lettuce & cucumber (Nice Size Serving). My wife ordered Green Curry (Comes out spicy without adding any additional spice (heat) - it was a little to spicy for my wife. I had the Street Noodles with Tofu as my protein - #3 heat it didn’t taste that hot with the noodles though. We both really liked this dish. We had their Thai Iced Tea and it was well made and had a very nice taste. Might be one of the best Thai Iced Teas that I have had and I like Thai Iced Tea. Anyway if you are in Bend and want some good Thai food visit this restaurant but make a reservation.

I love thai cuisines. I usually try common thai foods like fried rice or chicken satay or pad thai or dumplings/potstickers. This place had 2000 plus reviews and I wanted to try this. After visiting painted hills, we visited this place and it was super good inside. People there were really friendly and nice. But the menu wasn’t friendly. Just saying, actually it’s really good. As I mentioned i used to have common food from thai, but this menu did not have all those and it is the best part, because this made me to try new varieties of food. My surprise it was super tasty and spicy and really good. I would rate 10/10 for the food and restaurant. But it takes bit more time to see the menu and select the food, if you are like me. My stomach was super filled after this lunch. It is worth a visit and have dinner/lunch here. I loved this place. I am 2.5hrs away from bend, hope if I visit bend again I will be visiting here for dinner/lunch. People who visit bend, must try this place and it’s really good. Medium spicy is super tasty and it the broth and masalas was super tasty. I never had this tasteful thai food. All thanks to wild rose. Loved this place.

UPDATE: Was excited to bring my vegan friends here, but two of our dishes ended up with egg and fish sauce in them. Our server insisted he’d written vegan on the order, and said he’d mention it to the kitchen, but didn’t apologize or offer to comp the dishes. We ate them anyway and otherwise enjoyed the meal, but I wouldn’t recommend Wild Rose for vegans or anyone with allergies. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I'm not normally one to get excited about Thai food, but the curry noodle dish at Wild Rose was spectacular. I was initially disappointed by the lack of vegan options (mostly soups and salads), but the waiter said the noodle curry was one of their most popular dishes, so I gave it a go. No wonder it’s popular - it’s scrumptious! I got it with extra veggies instead of tofu, and it was the perfect balance of healthy and off-the-charts delicious. Service was friendly and accommodating, atmosphere was cozy and bustling, and prices more than reasonable considering what you get. I’m looking forward to going back, and am sure to order the plant-based curry noodles every time. Three cheers for Wild Rose Northern Thai Eats!
