I felt compelled to share this review online! I am a first time jewelry buyer, I came into Stephen's Jewelers to get an engagement ring for my fiance. Nancy and Stephen worked with me tirelessly to create the perfect ring for me.We came up with something completely custom outside of their case collection, making the finished product feel extremely personal and sentimental, which was exactly what I was hoping for (and of course what my fiance wanted!). I ended up with a pear diamond in a bezel setting. Stephen did hand engraving on the 12K gold band which turned out jaw-droppingly beautiful; he was able to capture my fiance's native american heritage by including arrows around the band. The detail in the work was amazing! Last minute we added a black diamond kiss in the band and two smaller diamonds on either side of the pear which put it over the top ! Nancy helped me pick out the perfect diamond and setting that fit my budget and my fiance's taste and lifestyle. The small last minute additions that she helped me with still kept me in budget but made the ring all the more unique and special. The two of them are great people; incredibly talented, patient, and made me feel very comfortable while making this big decision. True professionals! I was definitely a nervous buyer, not only did I not have experience buying jewelry but in general when it comes to shopping for my fiance I have more misses than hits!!!! Not this time! My fiance absolutely loved the ring, we both can't stop staring at it! I can't thank Stephen and Nancy enough! We both cannot wait to come back here and pick out our wedding bands together! All in all I had a great experience coming here for this hugely important purchase and I would recommend going to Stephen's Jewelers for any of your...
Read moreI honestly don't like to leave negative reviews, but after my wife's brief experience in Stephen's I feel compelled to speak up to avoid another person possibly being taken advantage of during a hard time in their lives. My wife brought a 1.09 CT, color: I (near colorless), clarity: SI, excellent polish/symmetry, cushion/brilliant cut, IGI certified engraved diamond ring in to sell. Now I understand business, and am in no way angered by the fact we did not sell our diamond there, I am only angered by what was a clear insult, and likely a blatant attempt to take advantage of what may have been persieved as a hard luck position, or ignorant seller opportunity. Either of which is despicable in my opinion, and dishonest which will keep me from doing business with this jeweler in the future. We received multiple offers for this ring from various jewlers, and allowing for profit margin all were fair to good except for this single incident at Stephen's. He claimed to find color issues, and came in with a offer so far below anything acceptable that countering was a obvious waste of time as his low-ball was somewhere around 13% of recent appraised value, and less than 50% of our next lowest offer. It's shocking that in this age of technology, and the ease of searching out a reputation that anyone would pull this kind of stunt. If you aren't interested in buying fine, who can argue that, but trying to rip anyone off is a permanent deal breaker for this guy. As this was the sole purpose for this visit I can't speak to his pricing, and I wouldn't leave a negative comment on the jewelery as that is purely a matter of individual taste, but I simply recommend looking elsewhere if trying to sell your precious materials per...
Read moreSorry that there only 5 stars, we'd give them 10 stars. You'll see why in the story I'm about to share for custom jewelry Stephen's made for us.
We lost our grandson last July in a tragic car accident. For Mother's Day my wife wanted to have two medallions custom made that included the words "Love, Colin" written in cursive. One was for my wife the other for our daughter who lost her son. The "Love, Colin" was in Colin's own handwriting.
There's a whole story about the cursive as compared to printing his name on a card he gave to his Gram last Mother's Day.
We went to Stephen's in early April to pick out and order the medallions. They had to send them to a special engraver who could duplicate the exact way Colin wrote "Love, Colin."
We got a call Tuesday before Mother's Day telling us the medallions were ready to be picked up. We went to pick them up the next day and the medallions only had the name Colin engraved. The Love, was missing. We are not placing any blame here.
We asked if we could start over as it was critical the "Love, Colin" be on each of the medallions. We thought "Oh well, we'll give the medallion to our daughter for her birthday as we were expecting it would take a few weeks to get the medallions.
Two days later we got a call from Stephen's telling us the medallions were ready for pick up. Here's what happened. That Wednesday Stephen recast the medallions and FedEx'd them to the engraver. The engraver engraved the medallions with "Love, Colin" and FedEx'd back to Stephen's that Thursday might.
I can't tell you the tears of joy it brought to my wife. Now you can see why we'd rate...
