We started planning a complete kitchen renovation in late September 2023 and completed the work in late April 2024. We had a tentative idea of the appliances and new layout we wanted, met with some design firms, and selected Kitchen and Bath Studios, Inc. in Chevy Chase, MD. We liked the initial design ideas and felt that the client-centric yet laidback (i.e., ‘not pushy’) approach would best fit our needs.

We benefited so much from working with Jordan Weed as the designer. He listened to our wish list, gave suggestions, provided pros and cons of various options, tweaked the design when we made some minor changes, and weighed-in on countertop, flooring, lighting, and color selections when we asked for his opinions.

Jordan was easy to work with, professional, responsive, patient with regard to the number of questions asked, and detail-oriented. On a few occasions his attention to detail saved us some later headaches, and he was quick to resolve issues with the general contractor when some construction issue arose (e.g., the need to change out the ceiling molding because the walls/ceiling were too uneven). We’re very happy with the final kitchen layout and Signature Cabinetry – we have a much more functional kitchen with an island instead of peninsula, more counter space, more storage, and better flow. We had lived with wood cabinets for 40 years so changed to painted cabinets;

Jordan’s suggestions for honey bronze cabinet pulls and a stained blue-gray wood island get lots of compliments. When you are undertaking such a big project, and have not done so before, you can not anticipate the number of issues, questions, and decisions that will arise. It’s important to work with a designer you can easily communicate with and who will guide you to get where you need to go.

We just finished remodeling our kitchen and are so thankful that we decided to have it done by Jordan Weed and Kitchen and Bath Studios. Jordan transformed our small, poorly designed 1970s kitchen into a modern, light-filled space that is double the size of the original kitchen (we removed a wall) and is both incredibly functional and stunningly beautiful. The result far exceeded our expectations. From start to finish the experience was wonderful, and much less stressful than we expected. Jordan listened carefully to our ideas, and created a design that perfectly matched the look and style we wanted. Our experience with Kitchen & Bath Studios was over the top and my wife and I couldn't be happier with our results. We built a custom Frank Lloyd Wright inspired Prairie style home and wanted a beautiful kitchen, bath and various cherry cabinetry touches throughout the entire house. We worked very closely with Nancy Kotarski to come up with a plan that met our needs. I'm an absolute perfectionist and Nancy patiently provided updated plans which we revised several times. We also had a very complex kitchen design with an integrated island that I thought would be impossible to design symmetrically. I was in tears when Nancy presented the final design--absolute perfection in terms of integrating the beautiful cherry cabinets, the stainless appliances and the granite island and counter tops.
