I had an oven ordered out of a Home Depot in New Mexico and had it delivered to me in Louisiana on 8/16/19. After delivery, I noticed I had ordered the wrong oven (ordered electric instead of gas). I called the store in Bossier City and explained the situation. They told me it was no problem and to bring it in for a return. I loaded the oven up and attempted to return it to the Bossier City Home Depot on 8/19/19. Upon arrival I requested help unloading the box and was given a blank stare and a ālet me seeā. After waiting a few minutes, another customer offered help and I took it because it seemed no Home Depot employee was coming (and never did). After getting the oven inside we went through the process of returning the unit. The first lady I spoke to seemed nice but had to switch computers multiple times for some reason. After that, she then told me to go see Cynthia. As soon as I walked up, I was told I could not return it and I would have to return it in New Mexico because it is a big ticket item. After I told her it didnāt make any sense for me not to be able to return it at another Home Depot, she then tried to help. After she attempted to help, she told me the same thing that I couldnāt return it here and it would have to go back to New Mexico. I expressed my frustration with her on the issue because it made no sense to have to return it to New Mexico when I am in Louisiana. She then called the manager and was given two other methods of trying to return the oven. After first being told she couldnāt help me, she then tried 3 other ways of helping me. After all of this, she told me there was no way to return it because of the big ticket item and to call the store I ordered it from. I could not find anything in the return policy about a ābig ticket itemā or that I could not return it to another store. No help was offered to load the oven back into the truck and no information was given on what to do next. Thankfully, another customer was walking in and offered to help me load it back into my truck. I called the Alamogordo store in New Mexico and spoke with Howard. He was incredible and helped me right away with the issue. He told me that it made no sense why I couldnāt return it in Louisiana, but he would handle it on his end. He scheduled a reverse pick up from my home and full refund of the oven. It wasnāt even the fact that Bossier City couldnāt help, it was that a guy 700 miles away was more helpful over the phone than a rude, unhelpful employee in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreExcellent service there on a recent internet purchase/ in-store special order.
First, got a dewalt saw with stand at an awesome price, over $400 cheaper than competition. Had an issue with payment and the service counter cleared it up with internet sales.
Upon receipt, the stand came in but saw was delayed. The store had that particular model in stock so they decided to make the right decision and allow me to take the one from store stock, and replenish it with my delayed item.
During assembly, the stand was found to have a defective part. Store rep worked with internet sales who is coordinating with DeWalt to get the part to me instead of me having to break away during buisiness hours to do so .
This is in comparison to my dealing with Lowe's down the street last month. With them I had a special order, it showed up, I was notified, showed to the store and waited almost an hour for them to tell me they didnt have anyone certified to run the lift to get my item down from a shelf, then that they had my product but no po from the company so I couldn't have it for a few days. It was one of many misssteps I've had with Lowe's trying to purchase large ticket items .
For me, Home Depot is winning my buisiness in Bossier City.
Thanks for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent to this Home Depot today and there was a line to get underthe loading area, it's raining, I get it. Waited about 15min until I could pull under, wait time was not bad considering the amount of cars and the complete chaos of cars backing out of line because they where blocked to pull forward. I watched cars and suvs load little things into there vehicles and drive off. I was there to get a little over 5k in materials, as a contractor I do this pretty regular. I park, get out, grab a cart and start to go inside and a lady stops me and asks if that's my truck and I said yes. She then told me I need to move it. I just watched 4 cars, park in that exact spot, go inside grab one item come out and leave. I explained to her I just waited 15min to get to this spot and you want me to move and do it all over again. She said this is for loading only. I told her I understood that and that's what I'm doing unlike the cars and suvs before me me, she got an attitude, told me to move my vehicle turned around and walked off. I didn't say anything, drove down the street to Lowe's loading bay was not over crowded, organized, never waited and one of the guys helped me...
