I also had a bad experience with them. I applied for a job on Craigslist and got a call from "Derek" who just had to speak with me right away. He loved my resume and said he had the "perfect" job for me. But first, he needed to meet me in person. This was on a Monday and we made an appointment for 1:00pm, that Wednesday. I don't live around the corner from Chadds Ford, so it was a bit of a trek for me, but I was really excited about this job and couldn't wait to learn more about it. When I arrived for my "interview" on Wednesday, someone greeted me in the lobby and asked me to have a seat. They said Derek was out to lunch but would be back within a few minutes. 15 minutes later no show. Finally a woman appeared and said she was Derek's partner (they work in teams) and that she would be interviewing me that day. I thought that was really strange and extremely unprofessional since Derek and I had spoken specifically about a job I was interested in. When I mentioned this position to his partner, she informed me that Derek was actually at the office in Philadelphia, meeting with that same client right now...putting in a good word for me. I asked her how that could be the case since Derek told me he couldn't proceed without first meeting me in person. She seemed tongue tied and said Derek felt confident of my abilities and ...blah blah blah. I shut down after that. What a crock. Like many temp agencies (but not all of them), recruiters try to get your resume and name/credentials into a database. It's all about getting you in the office - even if they have to lie to do it. What ticked me off was, I wasted an afternoon, time that I could have been looking for a "real" job and gas, which is not cheap these days. After this appointment I went home and emailed Derek and he blew me off a couple of times. When I inquired about this "wonderful job that was perfect for me" he bought time after time by saying things like "oh, the VP is on vacation and they have to make the final call" or "I'm waiting for a call back to find out when we can send you in for an interview." Yeah right. Finally, after about two weeks of Derek's bullshit, he tells me that the company has decided to put hiring for that position off for a few months. He then proceeded to tell me he will keep posted on future job opps. Yeah, right, Derek. You're full of it. Thank you for wasting my time and money to come meet with you, while you weren't even there. You are an unprofessional liar and I wouldn't take a job with your phony Beacon Hill agency anyway. By the way, toss my resume. I found a wonderful job with a real temp agency who has professionals working there. Philly Temps is your best bet!!! Good luck to all of you out there looking for work. I know it's difficult, but hang in there! And STAY AWAY FROM...
Read moreWriting as the significant other of "Beacon Hill Staffing Employee." Writing anonymously because he is still in the system, and I fear retaliation. He was offered a contract position with a well-known, national company as a BHS employee and given a start date just shy of 2 weeks. By offered, I mean, received and signed an official employment offer letter with a START DATE. Remember those 2 words. We relocated from out of state for this job which the representative was fully aware of. Received notification less than 24 hours before hitting the road to the new state that the START DATE would be delayed due to "paperwork and processing." This also came hours after all our items had been picked up from our home and, of course, he had already quit his old job for this. It has now been 3 weeks with no new start date and minimal communication from the BHS representative. To summarize: 1) received a start date that required immediate relocation at our expense; 2) currently paying an absurd amount of money to stay in temporary housing because you canât really sign a lease given the current circumstances; 3) $10K+ in moving expenses with no relocation reimbursement; 4) no reimbursement for lost income; 5) no reimbursement for other expenses incurred as a result of this fiasco; and 6) still no information on a START DATE. But hey, did receive a "gosh, I know that's tough." Great, thanks. I'm sure that works as payment for our financial obligations. How is this okay Beacon Hill? Is this how you treat people on a normal basis? It's bad enough that you don't offer PTO or 401K. And now, no regard for the effect this lack of professionalism has on "your employee's" financial status by giving them an offer of employment before the job is officially posted? This is appalling. Beacon Hill is supposed to help you with your employment/career, not make you unemployed with no source of income. This isn't a rant, Beacon Hill. These are the unfortunate facts of our life for the past 31 days, compliments of Beacon Hill. This...

I am writing to formally express my deep concern and disappointment regarding the conduct of one of your recruiters, Sunny. I was unable to locate her direct supervisor, so I hope this reaches the appropriate party for review and escalation.
A few weeks ago, Sunny contacted me after reviewing my resume and expressed strong interest in working with me. We spoke by phone, scheduled a same-day Outlook meeting, and she later presented me with a role paying $50K. While hesitant given my education and experience, I initially agreed to interview. The interview was scheduled for September 24th at 10:00 a.m.
After giving the opportunity more thought, I decided the role was not the right fit. At approximately 11:50 p.m. the night before, I sent Sunny an apologetic email explaining that I would not be moving forward with the interview, but that I wished to continue working with her to identify other opportunities. I fully acknowledge that my late notice was not ideal.
However, the following morning, Sunny called me and responded in a manner I found highly unprofessional. She told me this situation reflected poorly on her and on the company, which I understood, but her tone was unnecessarily harsh and dismissive. She then hung up on me before I was able to finish speaking. Since that call, Sunny has not followed up with me in any capacity. I emailed her again today with no response and attempted to call her direct line, but I was unable to leave a voicemail, which leads me to believe I may have been blocked.
I find this conduct unacceptable and not reflective of the professionalism I expected from Beacon Hill Staffing Group. Being hung up on, ignored, and left without follow-up for over two weeks is not an appropriate way to treat candidates. I would like this matter addressed and escalated to the appropriate leadership.
Please let me know how you intend to proceed. I also plan to leave a review based on my experience.
Thank you for your time and attention to...
