The staffs are really friendly and the price is fair.
However, I had high hopes coming into this appointment because a close friend recommended Kevin. I brought four reference photos—including a past photo of myself—and clearly communicated that I wanted a collarbone-length cut with minimal layers, just thinning for lightness. Unfortunately, Kevin didn’t take enough time to look at the photos carefully. When I tried to walk him through what I wanted, he repeatedly told me I was giving him too much information and that he felt overwhelmed.
Despite my efforts to be as clear and respectful as possible, including restating my main request multiple times—that I wanted thinning but no high layers—Kevin insisted I didn’t trust him and ultimately gave me a choppy, uneven, messy layered cut that I had specifically said I didn’t want. When I showed him how different it looked from the photos, he assured me that their shampoo made hair look more voluminous and that once I styled it at home with a straightener and products, it would resemble my references. I followed his advice, but the result was nowhere near what I had asked for.
While I appreciated his time and still tipped to reflect that, both the technique and attitude need improvement. All my friends agreed the cut was unflattering, and I left the salon in tears. If Kevin felt he couldn’t meet the request, I would have much preferred honest communication instead of being brushed off.
My hair is ruined. It's now far too thin and too short, with no room left to fix it. I have an important meetup with my friends next month, and this is honestly the worst haircut I’ve had in the...
Read moreWent here with a friend to get a haircut at the same time he did: he had an appointment, I was a walk-in. The service I received was rushed, a quick wash and a so-so haircut. Not to worry, I'll give them I pass since I can't speak Chinese and they don't know much English.
Here's the kicker though: I got charged $35 without knowing a standard cut is only $30. Since I thought the base charge was $35, I actually tipped the subpar hair stylist $5 out of courtesy. So I come here on a friend's referral and when I realize I was basically swindled out of $10 and left with a haircut that was "just alright", my friend laughs!
But I laugh too, since my friend has been going here for years and I realize that he pays $30 to get a bad fade each time he visits.
3 Stars for my depressingly average haircut experience, bumping down to 2 Stars for my friend's hair stylist that makes the most awkward fades...
Read moreWent in for my haircut today with juju and booked an appointment in advance for 4pm. She was constantly interrupted and another customer abruptly asked when my haircut would be done after waiting for just 10 mins. Juju spent about 15 mins on my hair, i felt rushed and she didn't even trim my bang. For styling, She simply put a bit of hair gel in my hair. To be fair, she was pleasant the whole time. I just don't think it's professional to rush your service with your customer. At the end, I was debating whether to even to tip since I was not completely satisfied with my half finished hair cut. She told me they could not take credit card and did not trust me to get cash from nearby atm, then asked how much I would tip her. I tipped generously, but It was just a horrible experience overall. I'm never coming back...
