Customers, be aware! They tried to defraud us by pretending to not accept credit card payment!!

It’s quite disappointing since I used to go to this Pho place for the last 12 years. I finished the lunch and headed to the cashier to pay for the lunch. We had one extra large beef pho, one large beef pho, and two fresh spring rolls. Our total was $42.69 after tax as shown in the receipt. I asked if they receive Apple Pay. The asian woman who seemed like a manager said “no no”and her English was not fluent at all—I’m not sure if she was faking it to defraud money. So I was going to pay with my credit card as I saw the card reader. But then she kept asking for “Venmo Venmo you have Venmo?” I did not want to pay with Venmo at a restaurant so I said “no I don’t want to pay with Venmo.” Then she said “Zelle? Zelle?” Who pays with Zelle at a restaurant??!!! So I said “no I want to pay with my Apple Pay it’s the same as the credit card” and pointed to the card reader. Then she said “how much are you going to pay for the tip??” Since it was just a party of two there was no reason to inform the tip ahead of payment. So I said “no, if you give me the receipt I will write down the tip there.” She seemed disappointed that she couldn’t defraud us. Then she enters $42.70 when I saw on the receipt that it was $42.69. So I told her “it’s $42.69 not $42.70” she tempted to defraud us again!!! I did not want to give any tip based on her attitude and intention. But I paid $5.00 and decided I will never return to this restaurant. If she enters different amount of tip into the system, I will update the review again and take...

We passed by the restaurant and noticed the Zagat rating posted in the window. My girlfriend and I obviously thought this would be a good spot and a no brainer.

We were very disappointed. My girlfriend took the vegetarian Pho which she says the broth tasted quite industrial (too salty amongst other things).

I ordered the beef pho. The broth was cloudy and dark, not rich in flavour and clear as a good quality Pho would be. This was very disappointing.

In terms of service, we were badgered into ordering quickly. They came 2-3 times in the span of barely 5min sitting down. The waitress (Manager? Owner? Seeing how bossy she was with her staff) made a visibly annoyed face and didn't even bother to answer in a friendly manner when we informed her we were still choosing.

We weren't asked what size Pho bowl we wanted. I was served an XL size bowl I didn't ask for and even when I made them aware of this issue upon being served, I was simply told "well you have an XL bowl now". Good times.

We had to ask the staff to modify our bill since I didn't order the XL bowl. And then upon card payment we weren't given a copy of the bill. We asked them for one and will now be monitoring our bank account to make sure they don't overcharge us more than the tips we left. Indeed, another reviewer has mentioned issues with them overcharging after payment (charging more than the tips that was actually...

Bad experiences today with my take-out. I paid for my food before it can be prepared. From my experience when paying by cash I have to tell the person the value of the bill in case any arguments can happen because American bills look similar. So tonight my order was $57.62. I paid with a $100 bill so I said "$100" as I handed the bill to the cashier. He laughed at me. I asked why would you laugh? He said "many people pay by $100, I have the money to give you back". I don't want to talk any further as it' not worth it so I waited for my food at a corner which has ONE TABLE and ONE CHAIR so I dont take any spots from dine-in customers. There are still some areas vacant which can fit at least two big families.

As I was sitting on the chair waited for my food, the waitress comes and said "HELLO I take this table" immediately just in front of me without allowing me to say yes or no. She carried it to merge with 3 other single tables for a family who just came in. In the restaurant there was still 3 other vacant tables but she did not take them. I was so up set. I told to the waitress that I'm a customer too 👋. Another waitress stepped in said sorry and told me that I can sit at one of the vacant tables. WHAT WAS ALL OF THIS ABOUT? I lost my appetite tonight. The food was bland anyway, not the authentic Viet pork chop on rice. If you want to enjoy your dinner, go...
