I can't recommend this place enough. The food is AMAZING but also everything else was such a pleasure!

Walking in, the vibe is super chill and unassuming, but also tasteful and well thought out, and we'd thought it was a cute hole in the wall, simple order off menu/seat yourself deal, but had someone approach us to show us a cut little bench table, and a waiter come out to hand out menus, get our orders, etc. And we got complementary in hiuse tortillas and salsa as well! Everything very clean, and even space dividers for the bench table spacings.

The menus are very clear and easy to read, explains everything on them. Wide variety of staple Mexican foods, the staff was so nice and accommodating when I mentioned an annoying food sensitivity (onions) and even stopped to warn me that the gauc had blended onions and maybe wasn't for me, and let me know what parts of the order (marinated pork quesadilla) would be missing because the sensitivity.

The food came out sooo fast and it was unbelievably good! Like, our conversations had to stop completely because we had to eat with our full attention good. My friend, who got the enchiladas, said the rice was out of this world. We all agreed that somehow, even tho we've eaten at many Mexican owned and run establishments, this felt like the most authentic Mexican food we've ever had in the fact that it was just in a different league! The even included the gauc I mentioned before in case I wanted to try it, after asking the kitchen about it, and kindly explaining what was kn the salsa. The portions we felt were the perfect size - more than filling to finish, with nothing left to have to carry around as we walked around. We'd wished we'd saved room for dessert.

They were super kind about us lingering for a bit after the meal to figure out where we wanted to afterwards, the bathroom has a SUPER cool design! The sink is very memorable, and they make a point on it that's its inclusive for everyone which was nice. And again, the staff were amazing.

I would reccomend this place to anyone, especially if you don't want to spend an arm and a leg for a fantatic lunch...

Horrible experience. My boyfriend and I stopped in around 2pm for lunch on a Saturday. The place is very small and the music was extremely loud. When we asked to sit outside to avoid the music, the head waitress said “No” and turned away (she seemed very angry). Granted there were no free tables outside but we thought she might give us a wait estimate or something. We decided to get takeout. I got a salad and my boyfriend got a burrito. They told us it would take 15 minutes, which seemed a little long for a chipotle-style establishment. But we waited and the food came out in 20ish minutes. As we were leaving I noticed they hadn’t put a fork in the bag for my salad and had to go in and ask for one. All of the waitstaff seemed very busy and angry. The restaurant was full but not so crowded that I understand their level of anger. After walking a few blocks to eat our food outside, I found that they had not dressed my salad or included any dressing on the side. My boyfriend ran back to ask for some, but said they seemed very confused about the concept of salad dressing and gave him two cilantro mayos instead. The salad itself was $13 for a cup of shredded lettuce and a few black beans sprinkled on top. My boyfriend couldn’t find any cheese in his burrito and said the rice was caked in congealed fat (very unappetizing). We will most certainly not be returning because of the food, service,...

We really wanted to like this place considering that there’s such a scarcity of authentic Mexican places in Boston however my husband and I were soooo dissatisfied. For reference I am Latina and my husband is from Mexico. We’re both from Florida and have been spoiled by delicious and accessible Mexican food before moving to Boston. This unfortunately was one of these most disappointing Mexican meals we’ve had in Boston.

We were excited about the homemade corn tortillas—they were just okay. The flour tortillas tasted good. The beans were not seasoned. The meat was also just okay but lacked seasoning. The guac tasted like extremely acidic store bought guac—it may have even been past its prime. S&S guacamole is a step up from the guac we had. No salsas were included in the take-out which is literally a given. We ordered take out and picked up at the restaurant so perhaps the ambiance and the service may make it up to some folks.

The prices are also astronomical for what you get and the quality.

Considering their IG looks incredible and it’s owned by Mexican folks, we were expecting waaaaay more. This unfortunately was not it.

If you’re someone who isn’t used to authentic Mexican food, you might find this place good.

However, I recommend Don Roge’s Taco Truck in Everett if you’re Mexican in Boston and looking for some real food. It’s the closest to legit Mexican food we’ve had...

Night out in Boston with the wife in search for some good Tacos. We found La Neta with decent reviews and being our first time in town why not. Chips and salsa were complementary however chips were stale and the salsa brought out was run down tomato juice. I ordered the Birria Taco and the Queso Birria Taco. Waitress explained that the Birria Taco is with corn tortilla and the queso birria tacos is flour. Birria taco is appears to be a store bought corn tortilla heated up in oil. Meat was dry and had no flavor. The quesa birria was a a fried flour tortilla with same dry meat and cheese. The fried tortilla and cheese gave it a better taste but not impressed. It does come with the Birria sauce on the side but it it lacked flavor. To drink we got a overpriced can of coke. For the night they were very limited on what they had to drink. Wife ordered the Al Pastor taco. Had a bite and had the same corn tortilla that was cold and food lacked flavor. Overall not impressed with the food. Spent $25 for 3 tacos and 2 cokes seems a bit excessive but o well. There is pros! Location is great with and outdoor and indoor atmosphere. I can’t speak for the rest if the food as it was our first time here and not sure if we will try it again. Hope you all have better luck than us.

La Neta on Newbury St. serves up some really tasty, authentic Mexican food. The free chips and salsa were a nice touch—fresh and flavorful. I ordered the Al Pastor Quesadilla Sonoran-style, which was delicious, though the portion felt a bit small for the price. If you are hungry, I recommend the burrito or chilaquiles, which my friends got and made me slightly a little jealous! The atmosphere is cozy and well-decorated—think warm, inviting, and not overly flashy or "Instagram-bait." I do wish they offered Mexican Coke, but their agua fresca was refreshing and well-made. Having tried their sister restaurant, I do think their portion and food quality is worth the price, especially on Newbury St. We came with a big group on a Sunday morning, and it wasn’t too crowded, but I can imagine it gets packed (and maybe hard to find seating) on weekend nights. Overall, I’d return and recommend for others to try.

Went in for a quick take out order, wasn’t busy since it was on a Monday. The service was quick but I’m sure when it’s busy then it’s prob. Quite the hassle. I ordered the steak burrito and a plate with chicken rice and refried beans. The plate was good enjoyed it beans were good and the chicken was tasty, as well as the burrito. The burrito unfortunately was smaller than what I thought it would be, and for 13$ it’s at the top of most Mexican places I’ve been which have bigger burritos. The steak was actually pretty good nicely chopped and the guacamole was great just wish it could have had just a little bit more rice. Overall it’s great for a quick snack on the go or a quick bite to sit & eat while you continue shopping around newbury street, as the place itself is pretty small and feels kind of claustrophobic once there’s a lot of people waiting to order or even sitting down.
