I am deeply disappointed and disturbed by the treatment of my elderly parents at this market. I dropped my sister and parents off to buy some groceries and waited outside in my car. During the transaction, the owner of the market loudly remarked to his employees that my parents were using a food stamps card to purchase $40 worth of items, insinuating that it was embarrassing for them to do so while being driven in a luxury vehicle. And said don’t park your car in front of the store, my boss doesn’t like it
To make matters worse, an employee then spoke to another customer, stating that my parents were embarrassing and dishonoring the Chinese community by using food stamps (EBT) again in front of my parents. This behavior is not only unprofessional but also incredibly disrespectful.
It is crucial that all customers are treated with dignity and respect. No one should be shamed or judged for how they pay for their purchases, and the culturally insensitive remarks made are unacceptable. Additionally, making such comments in front of other customers not only embarrasses the individuals involved but also creates a hostile and unwelcoming environment for everyone present.
This experience has left a lasting negative impression on us, and it raises serious concerns about the customer service and respect shown to patrons at...
Read moreA cute little shop but I have to agree with other reviewers on their treatment with elderlys and specifically Asian people. I don't have time to go into the details of such disrespect from the employees, but want to warn others that our EBT foodstamps benefits were recently stolen after coming here. Whether it be skimmers placed on their devices or the way they process transactions merely just by entering the EBT card number. I can only narrow it down to here because we don't use our EBT foodstamps at a lot of places. A lot of my parents' friends has also experienced the same after coming here. Please be aware of how your family is using their EBT cards here as it is not the most trustworthy way of doing business from...
Read moreI used to frequently visit Siena Farms to pick up produce and collect my CSA box. However, I have stopped shopping here for produce because I have felt deeply uncomfortable witnessing how the Staff treats the elderly Asian demographic. I have been to the store several times where the (white) staff speaks condescendingly and rudely to this group — this was not a one time occurrence. As a result of this behavior, I no longer support this business as a customer, as I believe all people should be treated with respect. I hope this behavior changes, and I am glad it seems like people are starting to speak up and not tolerate this...
