I walked in for a steak and walked out feeling like I had just joined an exclusive meat club I didn’t know I needed. Yes, it’s a little up there in price... But so is first-class, and this is the filet mignon of butcher shops. Worth every penny. The quality? Impeccable. The steak melted like butter, the burgers had me questioning every other patty I've ever eaten, and the poultry? Let’s just say my chicken came with a side of pride. The customer service? I’m not sure if I was shopping for meat or being welcomed home from war. The staff made me feel like I belonged... Like I was about to make a meal Gordon Ramsay would nod at. We started with the basic order and after few months we increased to something unique to what we really need. The eggs are the freaking best but also the beef stock, hearts, livers and tongue if you feel like experimenting with textures and flavors profiles . Or the chicken taste like a chicken should taste like...I can't buy meat at the regular stores now since the color and flavor of walden is just the closest thing I had to when I use to raise my own cows, chicken and pigs. Read moreWe are thinking of joining the share program and want to try the meat first, so took the 45 mile trip this morning to South Boston and visited the butcher shop. We bought quite a bit and had the best beef jerky we ever had on our way home. Haven't cooked up any of the meat yet, but we are excited! The "guys" in the shop were very helpful and knowledgeable. I have been a vegetarian since March for the simple reason I don't want to participate in the industrial farming/slaughter of unhealthy animals. I had beef today and am looking forward to trying...
