Service 🙋♂️
The service at Burro Bar South End was energetic and attentive. Our server, brimming with enthusiasm, ensured we received our orders on time and were well taken care of throughout our meal. Although I felt he could have checked in a bit more frequently, his overall attentiveness and vibrant personality added to the positive dining experience. 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Decor 🎨
I have a particular fondness for places like Burro Bar South End, which strike the perfect balance between upscale casual and cozy comfort. The ambiance is lively, with reggaeton music setting a vibrant tone in the main area. The semi-patio room is a standout feature, offering a covered space that remains enjoyable regardless of the weather. The decor is tasteful and homey, steering clear of overly stereotypical themes. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable and welcomed. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Food 🍽️
The food at Burro Bar South End hit all the right notes for me. The menu offers appropriately priced dishes with generous portion sizes and great flavors. I opted for a taco salad, which was delicious and satisfying. My girlfriend enjoyed two tacos: Sirloin Steak and Swordfish al Pastor, both of which she found wonderful. Our friends ordered enchiladas and a chimichanga, and while I didn’t get photos of their dishes, they seemed very pleased. The food is good to great—nothing overly fancy but perfectly executed. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
In Retrospect 🤔
Reflecting on our visit, Burro Bar South End stands out as a fantastic dining spot in Boston. The energetic service, welcoming decor, and delicious food make it a place I’d love to revisit. Whether you’re looking for a casual meal with friends or a lively spot for a date, this restaurant ticks all the boxes.

Read moreCame here with a group of 7 friends on a Friday night without reservations. They have a big bar as well as a lounge area that is first come first served so if you don't have a reservation, you can still get a seat relatively quickly if are lucky.
AMBIANCE: very lively, one of the most fun nights I've had in Boston.
SERVICE: pretty good, they accidentally brought us 2 Mexican Ice Cream Sundaes and gave us the second one for free so that was a nice plus.
FOOD: not too big of a menu for a Mexican restaurant but it has something for everyone. My friends seemed to like their kale salad and short rib tacos (the latter of which did seem small for $7) but I had the street cart chicken, one of my favorite things to get at Mexican restaurants. It's a well-cooked, well-spiced half chicken with Mexican rice and fried plantains. Hearty and filling, a nice balance of sweet and spicy.
For dessert, we had the Mexican Ice Cream Sundae which was my favorite thing we got. Three different ice creams: chipotle chocolate, coconut avocado, and dulce de leche. Then it's topped with horchata whipped cream, Marcona almonds, caramelized plantains, and tequila soaked cherries. I could have eaten this whole thing by myself but unfortunately I had to share.
Overall, burro bar was great for a casual night out with friends but I definitely want to try and check out some other South End restaurants...
Read moreWe had a really bad experience this on time at burro bar, we’re a big group of 12 dentists coming from a dinner to have drinks, we have been couple of times there and never had a problem here or anywhere else, the manager Paula or Paola apparently didn’t feel comfortable with a multicultural group like us, she approached to the table to let us know they weren’t going to serve us anything to drink after asking for 2-3 drinks for the whole 12 people table, we asked why since it was 10:30 pm and she said “I don’t have to give you an explanation I don’t like you.” Some of us tried to approach to her in a very polite way to ask her and she kept avoiding us and saying I don’t like you I don’t have to serve you anything, even when I came to the bar she asked the bartender not to serve me anything or to anyone from the table. The whole time Paula or Paola was extremely rude and treated us very poorly, the racial discrimination was evident, clearly any of us will never come back, but It is a shame for a nice place like this, to have such a poor and unprofessional management, it’s always the staff that makes a place better or worst and in this case the manager made it just the worst experience I’ve ever...
