The Mail Station — Local services in Boulder

I have actually had pretty decent experiences at the Mail Station. It is about a block from my office, so I use it pretty frequently, rather than driving down to the Valmont USPS office. I know they charge an extra fee of some sort to mail from the Mail Station since it's not a dedicated USPS office, but in my experience it has been worth the extra buck or two since I don't have to wait in the unbearable lines at the USPS office, and I don't have to deal with the very rude staff at USPS. Sure, the Mail Station folks are a little spotty -- sometimes I wait up front for a minute for someone in the back to realize there's a customer waiting, and sometimes the guy running the desk is not as efficient or friendly as I would like -- but over all, I am willing to deal with these inconveniences rather than going to the USPS. Though I find their prices to be a bit high, they also carry some cool gift items and DVD's...

I came in on Monday 11 May 2020 and at first, I was the only person in the store.

I then went to what I thought was an easy process of returning one item and shipping another.

I can only state that every choice I made was the wrong one and by the time the poor clerk had finished walking me through the process, there was a line.

I was the cause of a lot of people having a longer experience then they needed and not once did the poor guy behind the counter lose his composure, not once did he snap at any of the customers behind me, he did his job and he did it well and he even made sure not to openly mock my idiocy.

Thank you for making my day easier, when I made yours harder and my stuff, that could have taken a week or longer during this pandemic...

I've been a customer and box holder here since just after they opened 20 years ago. I travel extensively and had a dual residence in Alaska for a while and Robbie and the staff have been incredibly helpful over the years with forwarding and proviing a general "above and beyond" level of service. I live in Lyons and still keep this as my primary mailing service given the level of trust that I have that important things will wind up in my box.
