The Book Nook — Local services in Brenham

I never visit Brenham without shopping here! The employees are friendly and knowledgeable. The store layout is immensely appealing (who doesn't want a bookshop that goes on and on for days with separate rooms for different genres?), and you never know what you'll find that you didn't know you needed! Unless you're a better planner than me and you check the online inventory on their awesome website. Then you would know exactly what you'll find. I love that they participate in downtown events with other businesses, and host other great events when we're not in the middle of a pandemic! Oh, and did I mention the socks???? Five stars...

Business dealings leave a lot to be desired. Evidently their policy for consignment sales really doesn't mean much. To be specific, the policy states that payments are done quarterly or unless the last copy of a book sells then payment is made directly to the author. When I questioned my consignment payment I was told three different things for three weeks. Came to Brenham for the weekend and checked out one of the cutest book stores I’ve ever seen. There was a great mix of new and used books. Each section was well thought out in terms of where it was placed in the store as well as how each book was displayed. There was a small staff picks section but throughout the store you can find small reviews of different books from the staff itself. There are tons of stickers and pins and book accessories.
