We had a great time talking to one of the owners. I highly recommend stopping if you are in the area. Had another opportunity to visit 1844. We were not disappointed. Store interior is now finish and looks great. Worth a visit if you are in Brenham.

This little ā€œcornerā€ liquor store has been around for years. The 1844 team has done a masterful job renovating it and bringing in some unique and some high quality spirits. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and theyā€™re getting their hands on whiskies that are hard to find at stores 3x their size. Recommended to me by their sister store, Ballad of the Bird Dog, I wandered into this joyful little liquor store + market! A carefully curated selection of craft (with a few big names too) spirits and many Texas-local canned beers. I liked that you could buy a beer by the can as well.

The manager on site was extremely informative and very charming. So glad I was recommended this spot and will return if Iā€™m ever...
