Unfortunately, we didn't have the best experience here which was disappointing considering the great reviews. Service was probably some of the worst service we've had. We are patient and understanding but having to get up a total of 4 times to physically track down help is unacceptable. From forgotten silverware, plates, drinks..it proved to be inconsistent with what the reviews said we would experience. We got 2 wine tastings specifically for the wines listed but they switched out some wines without consulting with us first, choosing a different types of wine, Zin instead of tempranillo, etc. so we were unable to try the wines that made us order the tasting in the first place. The tasting also sat on the bar while staff were on phones or talking. We were 1 of 3 couples in there at the time. We got beef tenderloin and a chicken dish, the steak was okay, chicken inedible. We didn't send anything back but the staff didn't inquire as to why it wasn't eaten. I let them know after we paid the chicken was hard and chewy, no one came out to apologize or find out more information but most of them were very deep into their own conversations at the bar. Definitely not worth $200 for dinner and drinks for the service and quality of food received. Very disappointing considering this was out first vacation without kids in 3 years. The vibe and atmosphere was amazing but that was the only...
Read moreThree pluses -- love the decor. great location. great patio. The potential for atmosphere is truly there but beyond that they missed almost every mark. Menu and service was meh. We were surprised that a Brenham bar didn't have a single local or Texas wine. There was a party sitting on the patio; we chose to sit inside. We were the only two inside so with the party outside, the restaurant was nearly empty, yet we weren't greeted when we arrived so we just chose a table. The server/bartender wasn't particularly unfriendly, but his heart was not in the job, his communication was limited to one-word mumbles, and he wasn't familiar with the wines they carry. Lastly, the server came by and asked if he could take our glasses while I was still literally drinking from mine and then took the check (which is a pet peeve of mine). Efficiency translates differently in different industries. I don't think they've been open long so I may return and try again after they've had time to find their mojo and make adjustments. For now, it was disappointing so...
Read moreWe recently visited this wine bar with a group of six. When we walked in, there were several staff members present, but no one greeted us—they mostly just looked at us and shuffled around, which was a bit awkward. We chose to sit outside due to our party size.
Our server was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable. The mixed drinks were excellent, especially the Palomas, though they did run out of sparkling grapefruit water. It seemed like something that could have been quickly resolved with a trip to a nearby store.
The food was flavorful, though slightly overpriced (understandable for a wine bar). One of the dishes was missing some of the vegetables it usually comes with, but both the chef and our waitress were kind and apologetic about it, which we appreciated.
While the experience had a few hiccups, the service and drinks helped...
