I recently ordered a custom pure beaver felt cowboy hat from Watson's. While it took a bit of time for them to complete the order due to some uncontrollable supply chain issues, I was happy to wait! The staff at Watson's made sure to keep me updated and engaged in every step of the process, and provided exemplary customer service the entire time. They called me when the felt arrived, and very quickly afterwards when the hat was ready for pickup. It was everything I had hoped for, and was well-worth the wait. The quality of the materials, professionalism and craftsmanship of the Master Hatters, and extreme attention to detail was evident in every element of the hat. I was so eager to wear it and show it off...

THEN disaster struck! Less than four hours after pickup, at a children's birthday party that evening... an unfortunate incident occurred that resulted in my brand new hat COVERED in red wine. And not just a little splotch, but the contents of a FULL glass of wine were now covering 2/3rds of the hat. My wife and I attempted to blot out what we could with a full roll of paper towels, but I didn't think it was salvageable. I was devastated... but instinct told me to wait until Watson's reopened after the weekend and see what they could do to remedy it. I trusted the professionals to craft me a fine hat, and I trusted them again to help with disaster recovery.

And I'm glad I waited! Upon returning to the shop, they immediately dropped everything they were doing to help. Jerry and Shea quickly triaged the situation, and Alex wasted no time before he took the hat and began working the stains out. With the finesse and skill only attributable to the finest craftsmen, the entire crew provided real time updates on progression like a Doctor would during an intensive surgery. After having left it overnight, Alex called me early the following day with amazing news. They had saved the hat, and worked out every single stain!!! The hat looked brand new again, without so much as a note of discoloration ANYWHERE. And despite the time and resources invested, they did not charge me for it!

Truly a great experience. I sent an email to Watson’s Hat Shop explaining the hat I wanted made and size. I have a small sized head which I usually find most difficult to find an off the shelf hat that fits properly and stays on my head. After explaining my concerns about the hat and that I lived in Hawaii, a long way from Cave Creek, I shortly received a call from Eric Watson himself. He made the time to speak with me about hat style, materials, fit and what I would be using the hat for. Being that this would be a working hat to use during farm work in Hawaii with many changing weather conditions and high winds he understood that this hat would be facing an extremely active and challenging life. He made the proper fit adjustments that were needed to ensure my hat would live up to it’s potential. Only four short weeks later I get a message that my hat was finished. Coincidentally I was traveling to Arizona so I decided to stop in at Watsons Hat Shop to meet the crew and pick up my hat. As I walked into the shop I was greeted with kindness and enthusiasm before they knew who I was and when they brought out my custom made hat I could not have been more pleased. As I tried on this beautiful hat I was incredibly surprised on how well it right out of the box. If it fit any better it would have taken the fun out of it. The best hat shop in the state, if not the country. A truly wonderful shop. If you need hat work of any sort done, from new hat bands and cleaning, to a brand new hat, come here. They do it all. I only entered the hat world a few years ago, but this place is exceptional. Every time I enter they are kind, courteous, and incredibly helpful. I brought them my hat that I had built by a shop in Los Angeles to be resized and refurbished. They did such a beautiful job I thought they gave me the wrong hat for a second when I picked it up, as it looked too good. At first I didn't like the way it looked so they worked with me to figure out why. We looked at old pictures of the hat and tried a few different things till we narrowed it down to the brim shape was what I didn't like. They quickly fixed it and did it all with the utmost friendliness and a smile.
