My husband and I have been going to Aki's for years. I am more then slightly addicted to their Hibachi dinners and the yum yum sauce. I was a little surprised when they changed the menu and took away soup AND salad for the dinner, switched rices, etc. No big deal, I don't need all that food and brown rice is healthier. However, the next time I went back, it had switched again! I do look for a little more stability in a menu. Now, something changes whenever I do go back.

I will say that the last time I was there, I got extremely sick. I had the same dinner as two other people at my table and they did not get sick, although my husband said he wasn't feeling good. He has a hardy stomach and can handle most bugs that take me out.

I still will go back because I think I just got something from lack of proper food handling (i.e. vegetables) and the doctor said it was a one-in-a-million bug that i could have picked up from anywhere in the resturant. I always give restaurants 3 chances before I stop going. I still love this place even though I have had several times where my waiter refilled my clear soda with water when I wasn't looking or when they didn't understand me. I just may wait a while...

Went in tonight for dinner for my wife's birthday ordered food. I have cerebral palsy so wrong orders happen no biggie I always point at what I want on the menu as well to help out. So we make the waiter aware she instead of just fixing it gets the hostess who comes up and automatically starts treating me like I'm 5 years old and tells me everything i did wrong then proceeds to talk to my wife as if I'm not confident enough to hold a conversation with her. I told her 3 times I'm not going to be talked to like that. Then asked for the check. They insisted on debating the matter until I got up from the table and went to the hostess stand. I ordered my wife's meal to go the hostess then said " we would have fixed your mistake " . While we waited for our food i noticed the original server run to the kitchen then hurry back to the group of 4 or 5 employees starring at us and whispering in their ears 1 by one. We got our food then left. We are dropping the food off for testing for any bodily fluids or anything else. Will be updating this when...

Honestly, I don't go out of my way usually to review things, but this was one of the best restaurant experiences my boyfriend and I have had in a long time. We used to frequently go to Aki in Hanover, but the quality of service there has fallen a bit over the years and we stopped going as often. We decided wanted to go tonight, but when we put it in the gps, we found that there was a Chambersburg location that was closer. I'm so glad we took a chance on it, because we will definitely be back soon. We came to dine in around 5:30 and the service was so efficient, we were done dinner within an hour. Appetizers came in the first 10 minutes and our food was out within the following 10 minutes, multiple appetizers and specialty sushi rolls. The waitress was prompt, attenative, and friendly. The ingredients in the food tasted so fresh. Aki also typically has been on the pricier end, but for everything we got, we also expected a much higher bill. Overall this was such a win and a pleasant surprise...

We came with a party of 8. After chef made the dinner and wiped down the grill, grease started dripping down from the exhaust fan above us onto my husbands shirt, his hand and into his food. We watched it drip down onto the table. When we called over the hostess who looked at it, she smiled and said “sorry”, while pushing his plate out of the way of the drips. No attempt to remedy or offer different food or cleaning for his new shirt. She said “we clean the exhaust fans on Sundays”. This was Sat night, so that doesn’t do us much good! Zero concern about grease literally dripping all over him!

The staff was super friendly! The food was okay - I thought it was a bit underseasoned. A family was seated at the table with us. They were very cool! The dad, Jesse, just happened to be the bass player for an up and coming band called "Dinosaurs In Paris". You can find them through Google - type the bands name. Their music is unique. If I had to put them in a Genre I would say hard rock. It was GREAT to talk to Jesse's family! Hey, if you are up for a night out with good food and great music I HIGHLY recommend AKI and Dinosaurs I Paris!

How I judge a Japanese Steakhouse Hibachi.......the fried rice. This place has VERY good fried rice, especially when you add their yumyum sauce to it! By far, the best salad dressing for a Hibachi. My shrimp were chewy but palatable, veggies were amazing and the chicken was ok. Snow white sushi roll was fantastic! Service seemed rushed but friendly and we didn't get much of a show (which is ok by me) it probably depends on the chef. We will return if in the area. Overall: B-
