While I appreciate the idea of Kid to Kid and have found some nice, mostly reasonably priced clothing for my daughter, I wouldn't recommend consigning here. A year ago at another Kid to Kid location, I tried to consign clothes and was told I didn't have to wait with my items and could leave the store, but when I came back two hours later, was told the clothes were never looked at since I had to be present during sorting. A year later, I thought I'd give it another try at the Chambersburg location. I had called ahead to ask what inventory the store was currently looking for along with the maximum number of items I could bring. I was told spring and summer with 100 items max. Prior to driving 40 minutes to the store, I carefully sorted through the clothing I had to pick out just spring and summer pieces, and counted to ensure I had exactly 100 pieces. I made sure none of the items had stains or major wear and tear, and I knew that most of the items had only been worn a few times, if that. I took the items in with my toddler on a weekday afternoon in which the store didn't appear to be crowded. I waited for over an hour - not exactly a pleasant experience with a toddler while there isn't really anywhere to wait in the store - and after close to an hour and a half, I was handed back half of my 100 items. I politely asked why there were declined so that I would know if I tried to take them somewhere else. I was rather rudely told that most likely they had stains, or possibly the store didn't have room for the inventory right now. I pointed out I had gone through piece by piece that morning and can confirm not a single clothing item was stained. I was again rather rudely told that, "Well, we have brighter lighting in here. Do you want me to look at them again?" At this point, I was ready to just get the heck out so I declined the offer for them to go back through my items assuming little if anything would change. A little while later I was handed less than $40 cash for 52 items that included a convertible toddler car/walker, various shoes, car window shades, toys, and clothing in excellent shape. To say I was frustrated and disappointed with my experience is an understatement. In short, Kid to Kid is generally a fine establishment at which to shop, but if you're trying to make a little money by offloading your child's smaller sizes and outgrown toys and accessories, take your...
Read moreI'm not sure how this place has a 4.6 Google rating. I assume it's probably because not enough people who have displeasurefull experiences with particular businesses or organizations take the time out of their day to do reviews of them as apposed to the people who do reviews of places because they enjoy their experience with that particular business. I should know because that is why I started reviewing on Google. I still do reviews for that reason but also do them to hopefully save other people who read my reviews the trouble of having bad experiences themselves. This particular business is in my opinion a scam and any others like it for that matter simply because of the way they do business. They stay in business by taking advantage of people. When you go here to try to sell clothes that are in once again my opinion just as good of condition or better than anything hanging on their racks they low ball you on the price, offering you a dollar per piece of clothing. They then try to get you to donate to them the ones they don't pick after that. I get that they have to make some money to stay in business but not to that point. Some of the clothes and shoes for sale in the store were even noticeably dirty. The store itself was cluttered, the prices for used clothes were just about as high as most kids clothes you find on sale at retail stores. The one worker that we came in contact with was very unprofessional by climbing onto and sitting on the front counter when she was dealing with us. Honestly at the end of the day as it turns out there weren't many clothes in the store for our kids age or size anyway. This is a place that I would not recommend to other people with young kids to shop. Reason being my wife and I just were simply were not impressed with this organization. Lastly to Kid to Kid I usually like getting replies to my reviews but don't bother we...
Read moreI have been very disappointed with kid kid recently went in there two weeks ago and watched them pick through 90% of my clothes and buy pick. I mean barely look at put in a nut pile when the majority of those clothes were still brand new nothing wrong with them. The store credit is about $10 more than what you get for cash. I was just in there today and the same thing happened, I questioned one of the employees that went through my clothes and asked her why she didn’t accept two of the ones one being a sweater the other being a flannel 24 month she told me that the sweater was because she knows that they are supposed to be soft and she can tell that it was dry mind you, there was nothing wrong with it no stains no ripped tears again almost brand new when I asked about the flannel. The other lady looked at me and said we get a lot of those in so we try to steer away from them same situation. My son wore it maybe one time both times I went in I was told it would be 30 minutes and both times I sat there for an hour and a half and it’s funny because I sit and I eat browse and I find clothes that could possibly fit my children and I’m finding ones that also have stains and rips and holes, but they accept those, but they can’t accept the brand new items that I’m providing for them. It is a absolute shame when I first started going to them seven years ago they were not this picky let alone this strict and giving you BS answers to be honest you’re better off going and just donating your stuff at Goodwill and or going to once upon a child, he will get better...
