Croghan's Jewel Box — Local services in Charleston

I wanted to create a custom attachment piece for my boyfriend's eyebrow ring as a Christmas gift and called every jeweler in SC, GA, and FL that I could find that does custom work. Everyone I called brushed us off, just learning that it is for a "body piercing" was enough for everyone else to lose interest or turn us down. But not Croghan's. Taft and Claudia listened to what we were trying to do, helped us tweak the design, and will be creating us a prototype in a few weeks. My boyfriend has been trying to find a place to do this for him for 10 years. It is VERY special to him, and therefore very special to me, and Croghan's gave us a chance to finally realize the vision!! Judging by the pieces on display in their showroom, their work is exquisite; but regardless of how it turns out or if it can even be done at all, Croghan's has made a lifetime customer out of me, just based on how well they treated us and giving us the opportunity to realize this vision. As far as I am concerned, Taft, Claudia, Dawson, and Kirsten will have my high regard and business for life, and I will recommend them to anyone who asks for a recommendation for professional jewelry services. They are kind, enthusiastic of both their craft and interest in their customers, and have gone out of their way to make this Christmas gift a reality. Thank you guys again so much for giving our vision a chance and for an amazing customer service experience every single time...

I called Dec. 22 just before they closed and spoke to Maddie about a necklace my wife had seen and liked. I also asked her to give me info about an item my wife has on her wish list. They no longer had the item on the wish list but I asked if she could email me info about the item because it might help me find an alternative on their website. Maddie explained that they had just closed (they closed during our phone conversation of several minutes) so she would have to email it to me in the morning when they opened. I gave her my email & thanked her. The next morning came and I gave them a couple hours to send the email. After I hadn't seen an email, I called to confirm they had the correct email address. The girl I spoke to reconfirmed my name and email and said she would give the message to Maddie. It's now Dec. 27 and I have yet to see an email. I understand they were probably extremely busy as it was just before Christmas but if they didn't have time to send me an email, just say so. I'm extremely disappointed in the lack of follow through and even more so that Maddie wouldn't just send me an email when we first spoke. Apparently they stop serving their customers at exactly closing time (I'm curious what would happen if I walked into their store 5 minutes before closing time). I ended up purchasing the necklace this morning through their website because I told my wife I would, but they've most likely lost my business...
