Predatory parking practices by preferred and the church. The lot entrance on N Poplar is very confusing as it lists hourly rates for parking, but then you are forced to pay $35 to exit as a non church goer. The entire lot between N Poplar and N Pine is managed by preferred (preferred signage everywhere) making you think it’s all the same lot. It’s not, so don’t be fooled. A section is only for the church. Not very Christian like of them price gouging the public. Had a 30 min meeting at 6pm nearby. A colleague and I had to pay $70 to exit when the sign lists $5 for a half hour of parking. They claim in previous reviews that they have to do this in order to have parking for their members. Understandably so, so why not just put a large sign saying Church Parking Only, to deter people from entering? Why would you have rates listed at the bottom of the sign making it seem as if it is a public parking option? Why not say no public parking on the sign? Oh yeah, that would cut down on the $$$ they are making off regular people just trying to find parking in Uptown. I watched 3 other people get trapped and have to pay $35 in the 30 mins I was in the lot. I can only image how much they make in a months time. It can’t be coincidental that myself, colleague and 3 other professional people parked in this lot illegally within a 30 min span and all were confused as to why the rate was different than what was listed on the signage. The signage is misleading, point blank. Do Better.

Review: I visited Charlotte today, June 22, 2024, with the intention of seeking solace and connection with God. However, to my dismay, the church I had hoped to visit was closed. The gates were firmly shut, leaving me feeling disheartened and excluded.
I considered sitting outside the church, but even the park nearby, which should have been open, was closed as well. It's disheartening to see a place of worship closing its doors to those who seek spiritual guidance and solace. It feels like the church is making its own rules about when it wants to be open, which goes against the teachings of God.
I understand that churches have their own schedules and reasons for closure, such as maintenance or special events. However, it's disheartening to see a place that should be open and welcoming to all, turning people away.
I believe that serving God should involve creating an environment that embraces and supports those who seek Him. Unfortunately, my experience at this church was not reflective of that. I feel compelled to give a low rating of one star as a result.
I hope that the church administration takes this feedback constructively and reevaluates their approach to ensure that all individuals who come seeking solace and connection with God are welcomed...

$35 for half an hour of parking on a week day.
Jesus is watching.
EDIT: They replied to this and said that the $35 is a "fine" even though the ticket machine spits out a ticket that says "regular rate" and asked me to take this down to not give a bad impression of them.
Either the lot is public or it is not. If it's not public, take down the ticket machine or mark it as closed during the day (there is literally a sign that says "open")
Just because you're a religious organization does not mean you get a free pass for ripping people off by purposely misleading people at the entrance to the parking lot you...
