Pizzeria Sapienza CLT — Restaurant in Charlotte

I come to this place all the time because I work in Charlotte. This particular purchase was for me and another co-worker. I mentioned to the other coworker that the pizza place was legit and the pizza taste amazing. I ordered the pizza and we began to eat. Minutes later she said she believed she's chewing on hair. She then takes the remaining of the pizza out of her mouth and throw it away but then she and I began to look at her pizza that's left on her plate and see that they're still extra hair inside of the pizza and it was baked inside of the dough. I'm an African American female but I bleach my hair so my hair is bleached and it looks like a honey blonde and so does her hair. The hair color that was in the pizza was black. I ordered the pizza around 9:40 and that pizza place close at 10:00 so I took it back the next day. I asked to speak to the manager and I spoke to someone by the name of Nick who said he was the owner and I mentioned to him that the pizza had hair in it. As thee owner, the best response that man said to me was "well it couldn't have been my hair because I'm blonde and other workers hair it couldn't have been so I really don't know where it came from". I never once said to him that I thought or assumed it was his hair and actually you never see his face when you walk in the door anyway, I just wanted to specify the issue at hand that there was hair in the pizza and I wanted a refund. It's been days later and I still haven't received my refund. Also, his hair was not just blonde it was dark in certain areas not insinuating that that was his hair because I really don't care whose hair it was the issue at hand was that there was hair...

I came here for dinner on 7/2 around 7:45-8pm because it’s usually really good but tonight the entire experience was an extreme let down as I was placing my order the young lady taking orders was constantly on her phone as my daughter and I sat and waited I observed many things the disarray of the pizzas that were on the display line were sloppy and all over the place there was minimum 3 dirty tables floor was a complete mess one of the lady’s working switched out the trash bag and then immediately turned and started grabbing pizza so I stopped her and asked if she would mind changing her gloves and wash her hands before touching the pizza the other young lady working came to the table and said she would get us different pieces from a new pizza the other 2 women said something but I was unclear of what was said I also saw a cook come out of the kitchen in a tank top and the dirtiest apron I’ve ever seen not sure if vaping is allowed but the 3 ppl at the bar were all doing it the food came out and as usual the tenders were great that my daughter ordered fries were under cooked and not seasoned I ordered 2 slices of cheese pizza they were under cooked and had barely and cheese or sauce on them i would have said something but I didn’t want to interrupt the employees as they sat and did nothing at the table beside us overall experience was a huge let down as this place is usually on point but after this experience I would not recommend and may think twice...

Finally, I found decent pizza in uptown-

I just ordered delivery from this place through chownow (which is like doordash , only they don't screw the restaurant)

I got the $25 XL cheese pizza + 10 wings + 2 liter deal.

This pizza is exactly like what you would get in upstate NY, and is just like the pizza we made that the small pizza shop I worked at in Auburn NY in the early 2000s

The people complaining about the crust being thin or there not being enough sauce don't know what NY pizza is supposed to be like.

The wings were huge, and the medium sauce is good, and it seems like they make their own bleu cheese dressing which is always a plus. (ranch does not belong anywhere near pizza or wings, I will die on this hill)

The food showed up hot, the soda was cold, and it was delivered at exactly the time the app said it would be

The negatives:

there is no celery with the wings (who cares, really)

The pizza box is too large to fit in a side by side fridge without it going diagonal (I don't know if this qualifies as a negative, the pizza barely fits in the box)

when you order through chownow, they will only bring it to the front desk of your building if you live in a high rise. I was going to complain about this, but really, everything else was so good that it was well worth the 5 mins of my time...
