I normally don’t leave bad reviews, but this experience was honestly unacceptable. Our server was literally a kid — and to be clear, none of this is his fault. The real issue is the manager’s complete lack of training and supervision. The restaurant was almost empty, yet every time we tried to speak, the server rushed away. He took only one person’s order out of three of us, and my friend had to stop him to let him know the rest of us still needed to order. He also didn’t know anything about the menu, couldn’t answer simple questions, and seemed confused the entire time — again, not his fault, he was clearly thrown into the job without proper training. My food then came out completely wrong. When I told him it wasn’t what I ordered, he insisted it was and we went back and forth until he went to the kitchen. He came back 15 minutes later and told me they’d remake the correct dish at no charge — but by that point my friends were almost done eating. The whole experience was chaotic, uncomfortable, and honestly one of the worst service experiences I’ve had. I can’t recommend Astra Restaurant & Lounge enough! From the moment I walked in, the interior blew me away; the design is modern, elegant, and honestly one of the nicest vibes I’ve seen in Charlotte. Everything feels upscale but still warm and welcoming.

The food? Amazing. Every dish was full of flavor, fresh, and beautifully presented. You can tell they really put effort into their quality. The portions were perfect and the seasoning was on point; no shortcuts at all.

The service was super friendly, and the whole atmosphere made the experience even better. It’s the kind of place you immediately want to come back to and bring people with you. We had a young lady her name was Leen and she was just wonderful, she knew a lot about the menu and any question we had she would answer without getting frustrated, I came in a group of 8 and she handled all of us greatly!

Astra is truly outstanding. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels warm and inviting with a perfect blend of modern elegance and comfort. The food is absolutely incredible every dish is crafted with care and full of flavor that leaves you wanting more. The presentation is beautiful and the quality is unmatched.

What really made the experience unforgettable was the service. Mohammed went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. He was friendly attentive and made us feel genuinely welcomed. His recommendations were spot on and his professionalism added so much to the evening.
