I feel sorry for those who don't know about the C.U.B. When I first moved to Chicago 15 years ago, I bought a new condo. The builder simply cancelled all utilities instead of transferring them to my name. It was a very cold winter. I had no heat. Peoples Gas put me on THEIR schedule, weeks into the future. Needless to say, me and my newly constructed home would've reached freezing temps by the time they would've arrived. When attempting multiple times to get ComEd to fix the situation they refused and told me I owed them thousands of dollars in back pay. Each person I spoke to at ComEd had an attitude with me about it and they would not even come and investigate. I called the Citizens Utility Board and they took immediate care of the situation. Every time the need to buy a tank of gas they pass the charge along to the customers. The C.U.B. approves every request. This is why our gas bills are astronomical.
