UPDATE: Still happy & still 5 stars! Just one update/piece of advice. It was a good fit, and my husband was touched (not weirded out) that I purchased a replacement for the stolen heirloom (proud of him for smashing gender expectations/norms!) I would recommend that customers EXPLICITLY ask for a photo of all INCLUSIONS if you are not able to see the ring in person. The description of the center stone did not plainly point out, or disclose the large dark gray inclusion near the top surface in the stone. It referenced that there was inclusions, which WAS 100% honest of Ivy and Rose. The cut camouflages it to a point, however I would have appreciated seeing it clearly prior to purchase. Had I had a pic of it, I would have purchased a different (and substantially more expensive piece) with a better diamond. Ivy & Rose was amazing- I think as customers, we need to ask for these types of images prior to purchase.
1st POST: I had the WORST possible circumstances OHHH MYYYY GOSHHHH- I am so thankful to Ivy and Rose, to Sara and everyone else who assisted. After being proposed to on the top of a mountain, and being presented the family heirloom ring with an impossibly perfect pear shaped diamond and a unique angled setting dating to the late 1800's, passed through the generations of marriages in his family, the ring was STOLEN out of a locked room during a handwashing protocol at my place of employment, in the midst of the pandemic. I FEEL HORRIBLE, SAD, ANGRY, and so much GRIEF. HOWEVER- in random searches on Etsy for rings that had the same design elements I came across Ivy and Rose. They had on hand a few pieces with similar elements to my missing ring so I reached out. I was met amazing kindness, compassion and customer service. Being on the west coast made trying on the pieces impossible, they sent me video, were extremely quick responding to my questions via email, the Etsy app, and took the time to work with me on the phone. They processed my requests same day and assured me that once the ring arrived, if it wasn't a fit emotionally or physically, I could return it for a full refund. All for a ring that didn't even come with a giant price tag. I AM IMPRESSED. I know I can't replace the family ring, but because of how I was supported through this crisis, I get to surprise my hubby and his family with a "new" vintage heirloom that honors the history, the legacy and design of its predecessor and of my family. I can't wait to update with a picture when the...
Read moreI rarely write reviews but I believe the feedback always helps and its a win win for both client and the company. My relationship with Ivy & Rose has began years back starting from a raving recommendation of a friend. The store is located in Chicago and yet, until this day I have never visited Chicago. It is almost impossible to believe that I managed to make a selection, keep up with communication and purchase utterly online, without ever seeing the items I chose physically before receiving them. This says more then a thousand words about professionalism, precision, attention to detail of the company in general and an absolutely customer-centric approach of the owner Ilya Kunin in particular, who personally followed every order I have ever made. Quality of photos of the items and their description deserves a separate comment, each item also has a video which helped me personally to understand each piece and the dimensions better. Besides the incredibly vast choice of pieces from modern to vintage, besides the possibility to create your own completely unique setting and being followed every step of the way, it is a company which is truly a family one with three generation of expertise, knowledge and absolute attention for their customers. Knowing that the grandfather of Illya has engraved the ring I was gifting to my mother in Russian made yet another purchase incredibly special. Not being a customer who purchases something very frequently or within an especially high price range and yet receiving an utter and complete attention to each and every need I had, had been an absolute joy. As for the pricing vs. value I find Ilya being very honest and beyond competitive. The selection is frequently renewed, with new pieces and stones coming in daily. Frankly, I would and did recommend the company to a number of close friends and family. Until now I did not encounter another equally professional, attentive and honest jewelry design and trading company so it will be definitely a life long relationship. And I am still hoping to come to Chicago one day. P.s. A necessary remark-this is a review from an exceptionally...
Read moreAfter my husband had a very disappointing experience resetting a family heirloom diamond at a local jeweler, I sought out a jeweler who could create an Art Deco style of setting for my Old European Cut diamond. I was surprised at how hard it was to find anyone who made these gorgeous, vintage settings. Ivy and Rose definitely was a stand-out in this category. If I hadn’t wasted $1K on the locally-made setting, I would certainly have worked with Ivy and Rose on a custom ring. With my budget being limited, I ended up choosing one of their original designs. I emailed back and forth with several of the sales contacts, including Sara and Amanda over a couple of weeks as I sussed out what I was really wanting and able to afford. Sara reached out and called me (so much better than email). We talked through my requirements and ended up choosing a design based on its low profile and ability to be sized for my diamond. Once decided upon, the ring was fabricated and shipped quite quickly. I had the diamond set locally (by a lauded local goldsmith) and the jeweler said “So, you want to return the diamond to its ORIGINAL setting?” If that isn’t a testament to I&R’s mastery of recreating the Art Deco styling, I don’t know what is! The diamond sits flush with a very low profile setting and the prongs don’t snag or catch on anything. This is super important to me as I work with my hands and a stoned ring has always seemed impractical and cumbersome. This one is light, comfy and SPARKLY. I love it. Since all of the ordering and browsing was done online, I was nervous. The details you see on the phone are so amplified, I think I ruled out other settings based I. Them needlessly. I wish I could post the photos O wished for when browsing, but there is not the option here. I would request more profile pics if the rings on the finger so that browsers may see the height of the rings better. Great job I&R! I...
