Kirk's Jewelry — Local services in Chico

Got such great recommendation about this jeweler so I took a ring down to be appraised. Also took 2 gold ring to have stones removed and turn gold in to them for payment. Took rings in in 8/22/16, receipt said promised to me by 9/13/16, got call they were real busy and wouldn't be ready unit Friday 9/23/16 'at closing'. On Friday approximately 3 p.m. jeweler told me she was having a hard time finding a match to the color of my stone (she said something about sending out for values on various colors), that there were too many inconsistencies on the color values she received and that she was going out of town and not returning until Oct. 6th. She wanted to know if I wanted to just pick up the stones that were pulled out of the other rings and take the gold or cash it in, and if I wanted to take the ring I'd wanted appraised or give her more time on it. I told her I'd leave the ring and give her more time on it and just collect the loose stones and the money for the gold. She said she would be leaving so she would let her girl up front know I was coming in. I got there and she was with another customer...so she could hear my conversation with her sales associate. So, I tell the associate that I'm collecting the loose stones and money for the scrap gold but leaving the other ring to allow appraisal to be completed, BUT when I was told that I would only get store credit for the gold from the other 2 rings (retail is marked up 300% minimum) I felt deceived and decided to just pay the $5 per stone removed (10 stones) and take everything out of that store. Very disappointed, professional ethics lacking, jeweler interjected to me while dealing with other customers...just not upscale like I presumed. I will not...
