Retro vibes. I like this motel for the price I have plenty of good to say about it so stay for the long message. It is 2 blocks from the water it took 5 min to walk to the beach. Plenty of restaurants and bars within 10 minutes walking distance. Cleanliness was very good. The building is old but it did not have a hint of must or mildew in the air. There is very little in the rooms leaving a very easy room to clean. The beds have wooden slats and no box spring which makes me feel a lot better in terms of preventing bugs. I checked and saw nothing on the bed underneath and nothing on the slats. The sheets and towels are white and I believe they’re bleached because I sat on it with an older bikini and the material from it started to bleed on the towel which makes me believe it was bleach. (To me that is a good thing). There is a small pool as well with easy access. The doors are code locks and deadbolts on the inside for extra security. The room had a microwave, coffee maker , and mini fridge smart TV and plenty of places for luggage. They didn’t have a main light, only lamps and a light in the bathroom and closet. This doesn’t bother me too much since I am only sleeping in there anyways. Pricing was great! They have parking for your vehicle and it is right outside your door. Plenty of parking available. There is no lobby as we booked through Air BnB. They have a dock for pictures or boats to come up. It is right on the bay. Would stay again. Great place for a...

This is a great place if you're trying to save some money, but I would not recommend staying here if you're looking for a nice room to relax in at the end of the night or if you're worried about having a safe place to store your belongings. The room layout was rather unusual as the kitchenette was connected to the back bedroom, and you'd have to walk through one person's room to get to it, rather than having equal access or a living space. They also didn't provide any handsoap, although they provided shampoo and conditioner. We also ended up finding a large roach right outside our door. There was also a massive security issue. One night when we came back we found our door code had been written on the wall next to our door, under the light directly next to it. We immediately covered it up as we didn't know if we were being targeted and didn't see it the night/day prior. This place definitely doesn't feel very secure, especially considering that you're going to hear everything going on outside your room with crystal clear quality due to the shoddy implementation of the AC units. The surrounding area is very nice and there's a large selection of restaurants and activities, but there's definitely much better options compared to this place. The most I'd pay for this experience is $60-80/night, but that's only because it's within walking distance...
Read moreMy adult daughter and I enjoyed our stay very much and would absolutely stay here again. It was clean, an easy walk to the beach and we felt safe. The view of the bay from our room and the pier and nearby picnic bench were wonderful for morning coffee. The kitchenette was super convenient and the price of the room was budget friendly. I only saw one small roach and one tiny lizard and if you know Florida/the south that is a win! Even the cleanest of places can struggle with that so I was impressed.
I would give 5 stars except for the following: since it’s an Airbnb and not a true motel anymore, they wanted to charge $20 just for a couple clean towels, stating that people had stolen them in the past. While they did provide two beach towels, we only had one bath towel and wash cloth each for a three night stay. With as sandy as it gets going to the beach every day, one extra each would have been nice. They were aLao slow to communicate upon our request for towels (more than 24 hours , if I remember right.) And speaking of sand, a broom in the room would have been helpful as well. Hard as we tried not to get sand everywhere, it’s inevitable. The kitchen was decently stocked, although the one sharp knife had a badly bent tip (room 23!) which made it difficult to cut the veggies and frozen pizza I brought.
All in all it was a great place and I would recommend it...
