Amazing stay! We booked a 2 night stay as a mini getaway. We arrived earlier than the 4pm check in time and were accommodated. The front end staff were very nice and accommodating. They explained everything well and check-in was fast and smooth. Please have your license plate info handy as it is needed for the complimentary parking pass.
The hotel was very well maintained, and very clean. The rooms are modern, and layed out well. Simple but stylish! We booked a king room with courtyard view and it came with a wet bar/mini fridge large enough to hold 6 cans of soda, 2 standard left over containers and water. There is also a mini freezer in the fridge. We were able to hold two stemless freezable margarita cups in the freezer. The front lobby is open 24 hrs and has the ice machine, fridge, microwave, water and complimentary gourmet coffee. Toiletries are provided as well which include soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. The bed was very comfortable and the rainfall shower was very hot!! The courtyard has a designated smoking area, as well as tables and lawn chairs. Very nice for lounging. There are also two pools that looked very well maintained, but we didn’t use them. There is also a small paid laundry facility on-site.
The hotel was very quiet and was centrally located to everything we needed. There is a super market, liquor store, CVS all within walking distance. There are also tons of eateries, and activities within walking distance. We kept our car parked most of the time and walked everywhere. There are boat cruises ( Starlite, Calypso Cruise, Pirates Cruise) Pier 60, the beach and other activities near by.
For reference we ate at the Columbia Restaurant, highly recommend, and it was 7 mins driving distance. We also ate as Clear Sky Cafe for breakfast which is located on the far end of the strip, lobster omelet was amazing, and it was about 14 mins walking. The liquor store and super market are down the street from the hotel about 2 mins walking distance. Pier 60 and the beach, 5 mins walking.
Would highly recommend for a weekend getaway! We are locals to Tampa, and this is definitely being added to our vault of places to stay for...
Read moreWhile on vacation, we had to deal with an emergency surgery during our stay. The gentlemen who run the hotel were beyond gracious and kind. They even met us upon our return from the hospital and helped us to our room. We have stayed all over the US, from the Waldorf Astoria in NYC to resorts on the beach in Maui. Never have we had the kind of service and hospitality we received at Devon Shores, Clearwater. The hotel is super clean, super quiet and completely renovated. We’ve paid for beach resorts but when we return to Clearwater, We won’t stay anywhere but Devon Shores. I honestly can’t say enough good things about it. We were already impressed by the renovations and quality of accommodations bc we have been accustomed to staying in “resorts” however, I can honestly say if I could find someplace as nice and accommodating on other beaches, I would forego ever staying in a resort again. We have been “guests” at many resorts, but never treated with the level of hospitality and service as we have here. It’s very difficult to go on vacation and have a life threatening emergency but upon each return from the hospital, I was met with concern and helpfulness by the staff. Everyone here has been wonderful to us and not only that, they are family oriented all around. You won’t have to worry about being in an unsafe or out of control environment. They totally encourage relaxation and vacation but stay on top of the guests experience and quality of atmosphere. We’ve paid for resort vacations and had to deal with out of control partying and noise. You won’t find that at Devon Shores. What you will find is a very clean, accommodating, beautifully renovated facility with kind, helpful, courteous people working here that go out of the way to accommodate their guests. We couldn’t be more pleased and to be honest, it was our first time to not stay in a large resort style hotel. If we get the opportunity to have this type of stay again, we prefer it to the “resort” style any day. (Not to mention they have the best coffee we’ve ever had at any hotel in...
Read moreLong overdue in leaving this... We booked it on relatively short notice during a late-April public school spring break in NJ. We arrived on a Sunday when parking all around was tight since it was so close to the beach. The moment we got there, an attendant monitoring parking spaces greeted us. We informed her that we were just arriving to check in for three nights and she immediately directed us to a parking space.
The office staff was warm and welcoming throughout our stay. Always friendly and gave us good information for us first-timers in the Clearwater area. The facility, room, pools, etc were always very clean and the staff were immediately responsive if we needed extra towels or anything for the room.
While my wife was on vacation from teaching, it was a bit of a working vacation for me. After carefully checking the room and loading the car ride to our next stop in Florida before returning home to NJ, we said our good-byes and left. About an hour after our departure, the hotel front office called and said that while cleaning the room, they found some notebooks and other items in one of the dresser drawers. I immediately remembered that I emptied a beach bag of my work materials into the top drawer so that I wouldn't forget it when we left. You can see how that went.
We were an hour into driving to our next stop, Disney without kids, and while I thought about turning around to get my materials, that would mess with meeting friends at Disney when the gates opened. The front office staff (wish I remembered her name) immediately offered to mail the materials to my home. I offered to pay, and she said "don't worry about it, it happens all of the time."
Thank you Devon Shores for your gem of a hotel among all of the towering buildings around you. Everything about the place, especially the friendly people who work there, understand the importance of hospitality - and especially going above and well beyond expectations. We'll...
