I am very disatisfied with Allen's Flowers. If only there was an option for 0 (zero) stars. My friend all the way from Grenada wanted to surprise me for my birthday, so she ordered a basket from Allen's Flower Inc. to be delivered to me. First, the delivery guy gave me the wrong delivery. I had to call the shop and they sent him back (honest mistake I suppose). Second, some of the fruit in the basket had what appeared to be a fungus growing on them. I called back the shop to see if they would exchange the basket for me. The lady (can't remember her name, but I think it's Julie) told me that they will not be delivering again today, because the last delivery already went out. I said okay, and asked her what about Monday (they don't deliver on Sundays). She said she is sorry she wouldn't be able to do that either and that she will send the driver back to collect the basket and they will refund the card. Remember, my friend sent this to me all the way from Grenada, so having the basket meant more to me. I then told her that this is bad customer service and that I am going to write a bad review. At that point she started talking over me and said she doesn't care because mostly everyone in Columbia loves them. I asked for her supervisor who she said wasn't in the store. The conversation wasn't going anywhere so we both decided to hang up. The arrangements may look great, but I had a horrible experience with Allen's Flowers!
Update: Tina, the store manager later called and said they will prepare a basket for me on Monday....
Read moreI was pretty disappointed with my experience at Allen's Flowers. I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my girlfriend and paid $75 for the 5 flowers and about $30 for the preparation. When I picked the flowers up, they had only added cheap, tacky greenery in between them and nothing else. No bow or anything. I had been told that they would be arranged to look beautiful, and it looked like they had been prepared in under five minutes. I didn't say anything at the time because I didn't want to question "the experts," but when later called them to ask about the arrangement, they were not very contrite at all and said that there was no mistake. They even seemed a little bit rude that they were being questioned.
Perhaps they usually put more effort into their arrangements, but I am definitely not going to give them my business again to find out.
EDIT: In response to the owner's response, my main complaint is the utter lack of work done on the arrangement, not the quality of the flowers. I didn't specify extra decorating instructions because I was reassured they would arrange the flowers in a way that would make them beautiful. Instead, it was five flowers with the tackiest greenery you can imagine in between them. Their preparation was extremely last minute. I've never bought an arrangement of flowers with so little work...
Read moreI called on Monday, February 10th to change my valentines bouquet from a delivery to a pickup. I told the lady I would be there at 4:30 on Tuesday to pickup.
When I arrived, one of the women was very condescending and told me I was supposed to pick up yesterday and now they had to “re find” my bouquet.
Well - it wasn’t supposed to be picked up on the 10th. It was supposed to be picked up on the 11th.
Even the pickup slip on my bouquet said “pickup date - February 11th”
This wouldn’t have been a big deal. They are stressed. It’s Valentine’s Day.
But as I was walking out the door - the woman yelled sarcastically “sorry we missed you yesterday!” and I almost turned around and handed her flowers right back to her.
The bouquet cost 60 dollars and only had 3 roses in it despite me paying extra for the “premium” bouquet and adding ANOTHER 10 dollars into it for extra roses….
I wouldn’t have left this review if that lady...
