I hate leaving bad reviews but this was my first time there and probably won’t go back. My partner and I drove over 30 minutes to the cinema and made sure to be there at 11am when it said they opened so we could have a shot at getting the exclusive Jurassic World Rebirth popcorn bucket. When we got there at 10:40 people were going in already so we headed in to the concession just to be told they were sold out. Knowing how scalpers are I wasn’t to surprised but still! There was barely anyone there. We accepted our defeat and waited in the lobby for the movie time.
We went in to watch the movie and sat in probably the most compact, uncomfortable seats ever and contemplated leaving multiple times on that alone.
After the movie on our way out we ran into someone they had the bucket asked them how they managed to snag one and he said “they opened the doors early at 10:30 cause there was a family outside waiting. While I was getting mine there were people coming in to buy the bucket and then leaving”. That is absolutely mind blowing to me. How is it okay for people not seeing the movie to come in and buy the merchandise while paying customers are out of luck.
Also the entire time we were there nobody checked the tickets...
Read moreSo this movie theater hasn't changed at all from like 20 years ago, except it is more expensive. Matinee for 2 + 1 Medium drink + 1 medium popcorn was like $44 no refills on food or popcorn. The seats are old and not comfortable, They do not recline. The staff was nice.
I was in the area and had better times for a new movie, so we thought we would check it out.
Honestly, I probably won't be back unless I hear about major renovations. I'm kind of surprised that this place is still in business with the lack of updates. Since part of the parking lot is closed off due to needing repairs, it is probably a sign of things to come?
The movie theater was basically completely empty. There were like 2 or 4 other people in our showing, which can be a plus.
I think there is a deal for unlimited movies, which might be a great reason to go here as long as you go more than 2 times per month. If you don't buy drinks or food and you don't mind the seats, then you might be able to see movies on the cheap. I cannot justify almost $50 on a movie (especially during the day).
I hope this place can turn it around, I think it can service a bunch of people, but they would need to fix the pricing model and fix...
Read moreI must preface this by saying I'm sure others must've had a less creepy experience, and overall it's probably a decent enough place to see a movie, but my wife and I felt we were actually in a horror movie.
Other than one person working the concession stand, two in the guest services area, and one more sweeping off to the side, we were the only ones there. We saw no other patrons the entire time. The hallway was dark and silent. We didn't have to worry about bothering people who were also seeing a movie, because there weren't any. After the movie, we each used the bathroom. She told me the lights kept flickering in hers. In mine, there was the sound of grinding pipes the whole time, and once I left, I heard a big crash inside. Again, no one else was in there. All in all, a very creepy Overlook Hotel vibe, but I'm sure that's not a common experience. Although I wouldn't be surprised to discover it had actually closed 20 years ago after a horrible accident.
Also, when I saw other reviewers mentioning high concessions prices, my first thought was "movie theaters always overcharge." Then I went there. Yes, these prices seemed higher than most...
