We were at this store twice today. The first time we couldn’t find any employees in the store to cut fabric, as we had movie tickets we decided to leave and come back. We came back and the same scenario. After waiting 20 minutes at the cutting station I went to the framing counter where 2 employees were helping others so I waited politely. The female a bit rudely asked what I needed I informed her and she snapped “well it’s going to be awhile we are short staffed” not I’m sorry someone will be with you when they can or any kind of politeness or apology or anything. The man, Andrew was standing next to her when she spoke to me this way. He then finally almost half an hour later came over to cut the fabric. My mother started explaining to him our issue with the way we were spoken to and I said he doesn’t care and he snapped at me “I didn’t say that” and I said something about the store manager and he said “ well how do you know I’m not?” Fairly aggressively. I assumed he was not in management as he didn’t say a word when the female employee spoke to me rudely nor did his tag have a title other than Andrew. I asked for the regional or district managers contact info at that point which he ignored. We then left the store without purchasing our entire cart full of things or having the fabric cut. I’m response to our complaint about rude service the manager then decided to be rude? I called back to the store later and got Andrew on the phone as the manager. I again asked for his higher ups contact information. He said “I’m not at liberty to give that out you’ll have to find it on the website” excuse me? If anyone can look it up on the website why would the store manager not be able to give it to a customer? That is utterly illogical. So in total 2 trips to the store and over 45 minutes of waiting for assistance to then be treated rudely by an employee and the alleged store manager Andrew, and we still didn’t get the art supplies we needed. I understand being short staffed and the wait wasn’t even a big deal it was the utter lack of respect and rudeness that not only 1 employee but also the manager directed at us. I work as a regional district manager and have been short staffed for years and never once have I spoken to a customer the way I was...
Read moreI can easily find what I'm looking for at this location. It's usually clean and stock is ok. My only issue this time around was it seems they've changed their entire staff. Only one person said hello to me, nobody asked if I needed help finding anything, even though I was walking around the store in many aisles, and a younger worker was having a personal conversation while working, through Bluetooth earbuds. The same worker ended up checking me out at the register after the other cashier had the line waiting for 5 minutes, discussing yarn inventory with their customer. When I got to the register, I had to say hello to the cashier, otherwise there probably would have been no interaction besides mumbling my total. They were louder in the aisle on their phone call, but quiet now. And someone who seemed like a manager loudly called out to the workers "who left the dustpan out here?!" I know they use walkie talkies, so it could have been asked quietly. The attitude towards the young man who had made the mistake was uncomfortable, as she just told him a second before, "make sure you don't leave those on the floor," about product. And when he tried to grab the dust pan she yelled at him about the product he walked away from. Pick something to be mad about! She clearly has...
Read moreI am updating my review to add stars given the positive response I had from the general manager at this Michael's location. My original review is below. Keep the person I spoke with today assured me that they really should not be closing early regardless of how busy the store is. And I really did feel like she resolved my concerns to my satisfaction. My original concerns were as follows:
Unfortunately after purchasing a die cutting blade, I realized that I picked up the wrong type and scrambled to get to the Michael store, arriving at 8:57. Upon arrival I realize that I would not be able to run in and purchase the item I needed because they had locked the doors early. I was able to call and get a hold of one of the employees and told her I needed one thing and she transferred me to her manager, who refused to open and then he basically hung up on me. I will not be purchasing anything from this store in the future. To hang up on a customer and not give them an opportunity to search for something that would take one minute is pretty rude, especially when you are not honoring your...
